Abstract

【課題】外乱光による光学系の解像度劣化や光電式エンコーダの出力劣化を、容易に、且つ、確実に軽減する。
【解決手段】スケールパターン１０の像を複数の検出領域１４に分割して受光素子（受光アレイ素子１６）に結像するためのレンズアレイ１２を用いた光電式エンコーダであって、前記スケールパターン１０とレンズアレイ１２の間に、外乱光の影響を軽減するための遮光アレイ２２を備える。該遮光アレイ２２は、内部保護用の透明なカバー板（カバーガラス２０）のレンズアレイ１２側に薄膜パターンで形成することができる。

Description

本発明は、光電式エンコーダに係る。特に、直線型エンコーダ等に用いるのに好適な、スケールパターンの像を複数の検出領域に分割して受光素子に結像するためのレンズアレイを用いた光電式エンコーダに関する。
図１に示す如く、スケールパターン１０の像を複数の検出領域１４に分割して受光アレイ素子１６に結像するためのレンズアレイ１２を結像光学系に用いた光電式エンコーダが研究されている。
しかしながら、図１の構成においては、レンズ外周周辺やレンズとレンズの間を通った光が、外乱光として受光素子（１６）に到達し、光学系の解像度やエンコーダの出力劣化に繋がる場合がある。
この問題に対するレンズアレイ１２側での対策として、外乱光を遮光することが考えられる。例えば特許文献１には、平凸レンズアレイを成形後、凸側の平スペースに遮光物を印刷等によって配置することが記載されている。
特開昭５７−８５０２号公報
しかしながら特許文献１に記載された方法では、凹凸があるレンズアレイに後から薄膜を付けるので、印刷の寸法精度やレンズとの相対的位置精度等に限界があり、更なる高性能化や小型化は困難であった。
本発明は、前記従来の問題点を解消するべくなされたもので、外乱光による光学系の解像度劣化や光電式エンコーダの出力劣化を、容易に、且つ、確実に軽減することを課題とする。
本発明は、スケールパターンの像を複数の検出領域に分割して受光素子に結像するためのレンズアレイを用いた光電式エンコーダであって、前記スケールパターンとレンズアレイの間に、外乱光の影響を軽減するための遮光アレイを備えることにより、前記課題を解決したものである。
前記遮光アレイは、内部保護用の透明なカバー板のレンズアレイ側に設けることができる。
又、前記遮光アレイは、薄膜パターンでなることができる。
又、前記レンズアレイを含む結像光学系を、片側又は両側テレセントリック光学系とすることができる。
又、前記受光素子の前に、外乱光の影響を軽減するための遮光アレイを備えることができる。
又、前記受光素子をＩＣ化し、遮光アレイと一体になったカバーガラスの上に実装したチップオンガラス（ＣＯＧ）とすることができる。
本発明によれば、外乱光による光学系の解像度劣化や光電式エンコーダの出力劣化を、容易に、且つ、確実に軽減することができる。
以下図面を参照して、本発明の実施形態を詳細に説明する。
本発明の第１実施形態は、図２に示す如く、図１に示したと同様の光電式エンコーダにおいて、スケールパターン１０とレンズアレイ１２の間に配置される、内部保護用のカバーガラス２０のレンズアレイ１２側面に、遮光アレイ２２を形成したものである。
前記遮光アレイ２２は、図３（Ａ）（側面図）及び（Ｂ）（平面図）に詳細に示す如く、カバーガラス２０となるガラス基板上に、レンズ径よりも直径の小さい透明部２３を確保した、例えばクロム、アルミニウム、銀のいずれかでなる薄膜パターンを、例えば蒸着、レーザ描画、リソグラフィ等で成膜することで一体化されている。
図４に、レンズアレイ１２とカバーガラス２０の厚み方向の位置関係を示す。遮光アレイ２２の厚みｔ2は、反射等の影響を排除するためにできる限り小さくすることが望まれるが、薄膜パターンを用いることで、１μｍ以下に抑えることができる。又、カバーガラス２０は光学系の構成要素であると同時に、衝撃等の外力に対して検出器を保護する役目を担うため、厚みｔ1は１〜２ｍｍの比較的大きなものが望ましい。一方、レンズアレイ１２と遮光アレイ２２の隙間Ｘは、隣りのレンズに入射する光との干渉を防ぐため、０〜０．５ｍｍに抑える必要がある。これらの制約に対しては、図２及び図４に示したように、遮光アレイ２２をレンズアレイ１２の入射側とカバーガラス２０の間に配置することで解決することができる。
なお、図２、及び図４では、レンズアレイ１２の各レンズを平凸レンズとしているが、両凸など他の形態のレンズでもよい。又、レンズアレイ１２、遮光アレイ２２の配列や形状は、一次配列／二次配列、丸型／角型のいずれでも良く、特に制約は無い。又、カバーガラス２０はガラス製に限定されず、透明樹脂製でも良い。更に、遮光アレイ２２は、カバーガラス２０上に形成するのではなく、カバーガラスと別体の例えば金属板製とすることもできる。
次に、レンズアレイを含む結像光学系を片側テレセントリック光学系とした本発明の第２実施形態を図５に示す。
本実施形態は、図２に対し、レンズアレイ１２の焦点位置にアパーチャアレイ３２を追加することで、片側テレセントリック光学系３０を構成したものである。これにより、更なる高性能化が可能となる。
次に、レンズアレイを含む結像光学系を両側テレセントリック光学系とした本発明の第３実施形態を図６に示す。
本実施形態は、図５に示した第２実施形態に対し、更に、受光側にもレンズアレイ４２を追加することで、両側テレセントリック光学系４０を構成したものである。これにより、更なる高性能化が可能となる。
次に、図６に示した第３実施形態に、更に、受光アレイ素子１６の直前に遮光アレイ５２を形成したカバーガラス５０を追加した本発明の第４実施形態を図７に示す。本実施形態によれば、外乱光の遮光性能が高まり、更なる高性能化が可能となる。
なお、図２及び図５に示した第１、第２実施形態においても、受光アレイ素子１６の直前に、遮光アレイ５２を形成したカバーガラス５０を追加して、同様の効果を得ることができる。
更に、図７の受光アレイ素子１６をＩＣ化し、遮光アレイ５２と一体となったカバーガラス５０の上に実装したチップオンガラス（ＣＯＧ）を使用しても良い。
なお、前記実施形態においては、いずれも、受光素子が格子状に配列された受光アレイ素子が用いられていたが、格子と受光素子は別体でも良い。

Claims (7)

  1. スケールパターンの像を複数の検出領域に分割して受光素子に結像するためのレンズアレイを用いた光電式エンコーダであって、
    前記スケールパターンとレンズアレイの間に、外乱光の影響を軽減するための遮光アレイを備えたことを特徴とする光電式エンコーダ。
  2. 前記遮光アレイを、内部保護用の透明なカバー板のレンズアレイ側に設けたことを特徴とする請求項１に記載の光電式エンコーダ。
  3. 前記遮光アレイが、薄膜パターンでなることを特徴とする請求項２に記載の光電式エンコーダ。
  4. 前記レンズアレイを含む結像光学系が片側テレセントリック光学系とされていることを特徴とする請求項１乃至３のいずれかに記載の光電式エンコーダ。
  5. 前記レンズアレイを含む結像光学系が両側テレセントリック光学系とされていることを特徴とする請求項１乃至３のいずれかに記載の光電式エンコーダ。
  6. 請求項１乃至５のいずれかにおいて、前記受光素子の前に、外乱光の影響を軽減するための遮光アレイを設けたことを特徴とする光電式エンコーダ。
  7. 前記受光素子をＩＣ化し、遮光アレイと一体になったカバーガラスの上に実装したチップオンガラスとされていることを特徴とする請求項６に記載の光電式エンコーダ。
