Abstract
【解決手段】ポリイミド樹脂からなる基材2上に少なくとも弾性層3が設けられた画像形成装置用ベルト1であって、前記弾性層3がイミド変性エラストマーからなるように構成した。前記イミド変性エラストマーは、イミド変性ポリウレタンエラストマーであるのが好ましい。前記イミド変性エラストマーの弾性率が1.0×106〜6.0×107Paであるのが好ましい。前記弾性層3上に離型性樹脂層4を設けるのが好ましい。

Description
しかしながら、前記弾性層がゴム材料やウレタン等からなる場合には、耐熱性と接着性が、フッ素樹脂やシリコーンゴム等からなる場合には、接着性にそれぞれ問題がある。
しかしながら、特許文献3に記載されているベルトは、基材にポリイミド樹脂ではなく、ポリウレタン等を用いるので、高精度駆動をさせることはできない。
(1)ポリイミド樹脂からなる基材上に少なくとも弾性層が設けられた画像形成装置用ベルトであって、前記弾性層がイミド変性エラストマーからなることを特徴とする画像形成装置用ベルト。
(2)前記イミド変性エラストマーは、イミド変性ポリウレタンエラストマーである前記(1)記載の画像形成装置用ベルト。
(3)前記イミド変性ポリウレタンエラストマーは、下記一般式(I):

以下、本発明の画像形成装置用ベルトの一実施形態について図面を参照して詳細に説明する。図1は、本実施形態の画像形成装置用ベルトを示す拡大概略断面図である。同図に示すように、本実施形態にかかる画像形成装置用ベルト1は、基材2と、この基材2上に設けられる弾性層3と、この弾性層3上に設けられる離型性樹脂層4とで構成されている。

上記反応行程式(A)に示すように、まず、ジイソシアナート(a)とポリオール(b)から分子両末端にイソシアナート基を有するポリウレタンプレポリマー(c)を得る。PIUE(I)は、このポリウレタンプレポリマー(c)をエラストマー成分とするので、ゴム状領域(室温付近)の弾性率が低くなり、よりエラスティックにすることができると共に、このポリウレタンプレポリマー(c)の分子量を制御することにより、主鎖に連続した2つのイミドユニットを、その分布を制御しつつ所望の割合で導入することが可能となる。
上記で得られたポリウレタンプレポリマー(c)を用いて、反応行程式(B)に従ってイミド前駆体であるポリウレタン−ウレア化合物(e)を合成する。すなわち、ポリウレタンプレポリマー(c)をジアミン化合物(d)でウレア結合により鎖延長してポリウレタン−ウレア化合物(e)を得る。
特に、1,6−ヘキサメチレンジアミン(HMDA)を用いるのが、強度に優れるPIUE(I)を得ることができるうえで好ましい。また、上記で例示したジアミン化合物(d)の選択によっても、PIUE(I)の弾性率を調整することができる。
上記で得られたポリウレタン−ウレア化合物(e)を用いて、反応行程式(C)に従って一般式(I)で表されるPIUEを合成する。すなわち、テトラカルボン酸二無水物(f)でウレア結合部にイミドユニットを導入してブロック共重合体であるPIUE(I)を得る。
また、離型性樹脂層4に、上記で説明した導電剤を分散させて、帯電によるオフセット等を防止するようにしてもよい。
ついで、上記で説明した画像形成装置用ベルト1の製造方法の一実施形態について説明する。なお、ベルト1はシームレスベルトとして中間転写ベルトや定着ベルトに用いると、本発明の有用性が増す上で好ましい。したがって、シームレスなベルト1の製造方法の一実施形態について、弾性層3を構成するイミド変性エラストマーにPIUE(I)を用いた場合について説明する。
ベルト成形では、まず、上記PUA溶液を、110〜130℃、好ましくは120℃程度に加熱した遠心成形機に注入する。なお、遠心成形機ドラム内面には離型処理を施す、離経剤を塗布する、あるいは樹脂で離形性を持った層を形成するなどしておくのが、下記のようにして得られる積層フィルムを遠心成型機から簡単に取り外すことができる上で好ましい。
<合成例1>
PIUE(1)の合成方法について、下記式に基づいて説明する。
まず、4,4’−ジフェニルメタンジイソシアナート(MDI)(h)[日本ポリウレタン工業(株)社製]を減圧蒸留した。また、ポリオキシテトラメチレングリコール(PTMG)(i)[保土谷化学(株)社製の商品名「PTMG1000」、重量平均分子量:1,000]を80℃、2〜3mmHg、24時間の条件で減圧乾燥した。
上記で得たポリウレタンプレポリマー(j)10gを脱水処理したN−メチル−2−ピロリドン(NMP)60mlに溶解させたものと、4,4’−ジアミノジフェニルメタン(MDA)(k)0.378gを脱水処理したNMP20mlに溶解させたものとを、攪拌機およびガス導入管を備えた500mlの四つ口セパラブルフラスコにそれぞれ加え、アルゴン雰囲気下、室温(23℃)で24時間攪拌して、ポリウレタン−ウレア化合物(l)の溶液を得た。
上記で得たポリウレタン−ウレア化合物(l)の溶液中に、無水ピロメリット酸(PMDA)(m)0.831gを加え、アルゴンガス雰囲気下、150℃で2時間攪拌して、ポリウレタンアミド酸(PUA)溶液を得た。ついで、該PUA溶液を遠心成形機に流し込み、150℃で1,000rpm、1時間遠心成形してPUAシートを得た。このPUAシートを減圧デシケータ内で200℃、2時間加熱処理(脱水縮合反応)して、厚さ100μmのシート状のPIUE(1)を得た(イミド分率:15重量%)。なお、前記イミド分率は、前記式(α)から算出して得た値である。
図2から明らかなように、1780cm-1、1720cm-1および1380cm-1にイミド環に由来する吸収が観察された。
MDI(h)23.8gを27.3gにし、PTMG(i)76.2gを72.7gにした以外は、上記合成例1と同様にして、重量平均分子量が2.5×104のポリウレタンプレポリマー(j)を得た。ついで、MDA(k)0.378gを0.721gにした以外は、上記合成例1と同様にして、ポリウレタン−ウレア化合物(l)の溶液を得た。
図3から明らかなように、1780cm-1、1720cm-1および1380cm-1にイミド環に由来する吸収が観察された。
(弾性率の測定方法)
セイコーインスツルメンツ社(Seiko Instruments Inc.)製の動的粘弾性測定装置「DMS 6100」を用いて、10Hz、5℃/分、−100〜400℃の昇温過程にて、50℃での貯蔵弾性率E’を測定した、
まず、上記合成例1で得たPIUE溶液(すなわち合成例1において脱水縮合反応させる前のPUA溶液)を遠心成形機を用いて120℃で30分処理して厚さ100μmのPIUEフィルムを得た。ついで、このPIUEフィルム内面に宇部興産(株)社製の商品名「UワニスA」を注入し、120℃で45分間熱処理して積層フィルムを得た。
<剥離強度の測定>
上記で得た画像形成装置用ベルトを10mm幅の短冊状に打ち抜き、島津製作所製の引っ張り試験機「AG−2000G」を使用して、基材と弾性層との剥離強度を測定した。なお、引っ張り速度は50mm/分とした。
まず、宇部興産(株)社製の商品名「UワニスA」を、遠心成形機を用いて120℃で45分間熱処理することで厚さ100μmのフィルムを得た。ついで、このフィルム内面に信越シリコーン社製の2液硬化型シリコーンゴム「KE1300」を注入し、120℃で3時間熱処理して積層フィルムを作製した。その後、このフィルムをドラムから取り外し、金型にはめて350℃で30分熱処理を行い、片面がポリイミド、他面がシリコーンゴムの構造、すなわちポリイミド樹脂からなる基材と、この基材上に設けられるシリコーンゴムからなる弾性層とで構成されたシームレスな画像形成装置用ベルトを得た。
まず、宇部興産(株)社製の商品名「UワニスA」を、遠心成形機を用いて120℃で45分間熱処理することで厚さ100μmのフィルムを得た。ついで、このフィルム内面に東レ・ダウコーニング社製の1液硬化型シリコーンゴム「SE5060」を注入し、60℃で3時間熱処理して積層フィルムを作製した。その後、この積層フィルムをドラムから取り外し、金型にはめて350℃で30分熱処理を行い、片面がポリイミド、他面がシリコーンゴムの構造、すなわちポリイミド樹脂からなる基材と、この基材上に設けられるシリコーンゴムからなる弾性層とで構成されたシームレスな画像形成装置用ベルトを得た。

Claims (7)
- ポリイミド樹脂からなる基材上に少なくとも弾性層が設けられた画像形成装置用ベルトであって、前記弾性層がイミド変性エラストマーからなることを特徴とする画像形成装置用ベルト。
- 前記イミド変性エラストマーは、イミド変性ポリウレタンエラストマーである請求項1記載の画像形成装置用ベルト。
- 前記イミド変性エラストマーの弾性率が1.0×106〜6.0×107Paである請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の画像形成装置用ベルト。
- 前記弾性層上に離型性樹脂層を設けた請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の画像形成装置用ベルト。
- 中間転写ベルトである請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の画像形成装置用ベルト。
- 定着ベルトである請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の画像形成装置用ベルト。
