Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の表示装置は、データ配線Dと、このデータ配線Dと交差する第1ゲート配線S(n)及び第2ゲート配線S(n+1)と、データ配線Dと第1ゲート配線S(n)に連結される第1スイッチング素子SW_O1、SW_O2を含む第1画素OPと、データ配線Dと第1ゲート配線S(n)及び第2ゲート配線S(n+1)に連結される第2スイッチング素子SW_E1、SW_E2を含む第2画素EPとを含むことを特徴とする。

Description
図1に示したように、従来の有機電界発光素子の画素は、ゲート配線Sとデータ配線D間に、スイッチングトランジスタN1、キャパシターC、駆動トランジスタN2及び有機電界発光ダイオードOLEDを備えている。
ゲート配線Sに印加されるハイ信号VGHによってスイッチングトランジスタN1がオンになると、データ配線Dに印加されるデータ信号によってキャパシターCに電荷が蓄積される。以後、キャパシターCに蓄積されたデータ信号と駆動信号との電位の差によって、駆動トランジスタN2に流れる電流の量が決定されて、決定された電流の量により発光量が決定され、有機電界発光ダイオードOLEDが発光する。
前記第4スイッチングトランジスタは、前記データ配線に連結される場合もある。
前記第1期間及び第2期間の各々は、前記水平周期の半分に当たる。
図3に示したように、データ信号が入力されるデータ配線Dと、これと交差されるスキャン配線S(n)、S(n+1)が位置する。但し、nは整数である。データ配線Dの右左両側に形成されて、同一データ配線Dに連結された2画素に対して、説明の便宜上、左側の画素を奇数画素OP、右側の画素を偶数EPとする。
各スキャン配線S(n)、S(n+1)、S(n+2)に、ゲート信号が入力される。

D_O:奇数駆動トランジスタ

Claims (14)
- データ配線と、
前記データ配線と交差する第1ゲート配線及び第2ゲート配線と、
前記データ配線と前記第1ゲート配線に連結される第1スイッチング素子を含む第1画素と、
前記データ配線と第1ゲート配線及び第2ゲート配線に連結される第2スイッチング素子を含む第2画素とを含むことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記第1スイッチング素子は、前記第1ゲート配線に連結されて、相互に直列に連結される第1スイッチングトランジスタ及び第2スイッチングトランジスタを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第2スイッチング素子は、前記第1ゲート配線及び第2ゲート配線の各々に連結されて、相互に直列に連結される第3スイッチングトランジスタ及び第4スイッチングトランジスタを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第4スイッチングトランジスタは、前記データ配線に連結されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1画素は、前記第1スイッチング素子に連結される駆動トランジスタと、前記駆動トランジスタに連結される有機電界発光ダイオードと、前記駆動トランジスタに連結されるキャパシターを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第2画素は、前記第2スイッチング素子に連結される駆動トランジスタと、前記駆動トランジスタに連結される有機電界発光ダイオードと、前記駆動トランジスタに連結されるキャパシターを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 水平周期のうち第1期間及び第2期間に、第1画素の第1スイッチング素子をターンオンして、前記第1期間に、第2画素の第2スイッチング素子をターンオンする段階と、
前記第1期間及び第2期間の各々に、第1データ信号及び第2データ信号を、前記第1画素及び第2画素に連結されたデータ配線に印加する段階とを含むことを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1スイッチング素子及び第2スイッチング素子をターンオンする段階は、前記第1期間及び第2期間に、前記第1スイッチング素子に含まれる第1スイッチングトランジスタ及び第2スイッチングトランジスタと、前記第2スイッチング素子に含まれる第3スイッチングトランジスタとに、第1オンゲート信号を印加する段階と、
前記第1期間に、前記第2スイッチング素子に含まれる第4スイッチングトランジスタに、第2オンゲート信号を印加する段階とを含み、
前記第1スイッチングトランジスタ及び第2スイッチングトランジスタは、直列連結されて、前記第3スイッチングトランジスタ及び第4スイッチングトランジスタは、直列連結されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1期間は、前記第2期間より水平周期において早い期間であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1期間及び第2期間の各々は、前記水平周期の半分に当たることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1画素は、前記第1スイッチング素子に連結される駆動トランジスタと、前記駆動トランジスタに連結される有機電界発光ダイオードと、前記駆動トランジスタに連結されるキャパシターとを含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第2画素は、前記第2スイッチング素子に連結される駆動トランジスタと、前記駆動トランジスタに連結される有機電界発光ダイオードと、前記駆動トランジスタに連結されるキャパシターとを含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の表示装置の駆動方法。
- 水平周期のうち第1期間及び第2期間の各々に、第1データ信号及び第2データ信号を供給する段階と、
前記第1期間及び第2期間の各々に、前記第1データ信号及び第2データ信号を第1画素に蓄積して、前記第2時間に前記第1データ信号を第2画素に蓄積する段階とを含むことを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1データ信号及び第2データ信号を蓄積する段階は、前記第1データ信号が、前記第1画素の第1スイッチング素子と前記第2画素の第2スイッチング素子に入力される段階と、
前記第2データ信号が、前記第1スイッチング素子に入力されて、前記第2スイッチング素子に入力されない段階とを含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の表示装置の駆動方法。
