Abstract
【解決手段】本発明段は、カラーフィルタ基板30と、TFT基板と、カラーフィルタ基板30とTFT基板とに挟持された液晶と、緑の色材を有する画素にのみ形成され、セルギャップを規定する柱状スペーサと、柱状スペーサを形成した位置近傍の所定の領域にのみ設けられた遮光部とを備える。

Description
図1は、本実施の形態に係る半透過型液晶表示装置におけるTFTアレイ基板の概略を示す平面図である。図1では、TFTアレイ基板10に設けられる各画素に、光を透過させる透過領域Tと、液晶層に入射した周囲光を反射させる反射領域Sとが形成されている。図2(a)〜図2(d)は、本実施の形態に係る半透過型液晶表示装置におけるTFTアレイ基板の製造方法を説明するための断面図である。なお、図2(a)〜図2(d)は、ソース配線部及び反射領域S(図1の矢視A−A線)、透過領域T及び反射領域S(図1の矢視B−B線)、TFT(図1の矢視C−C線)の断面のそれぞれを仮想的に1つの断面図として図示している。
Claims (4)
- 赤及び緑、青の色材で各画素を形成するカラーフィルタと、遮光膜とを有する第1基板と、
前記画素内に透過領域を形成する透過画素電極と、反射領域を形成する反射画素電極と、前記透過画素電極及び前記反射画素電極に印加する信号や制御信号を供給する配線を有する第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板とに挟持された液晶と、
緑の前記色材を有する前記画素にのみ形成され、前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間隙を規定する柱状スペーサと、
前記柱状スペーサを形成した位置近傍の所定の領域にのみ設けられた遮光部とを備える半透過型液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の半透過型液晶表示装置であって、
前記柱状スペーサは、前記配線に対応する位置に設けられることを特徴とする半透過型液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1又は請求項2に記載の半透過型液晶表示装置であって、
前記柱状スペーサは、前記反射領域に設けられることを特徴とする半透過型液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1つに記載の半透過型液晶表示装置であって、
表示面積に対する前記柱状スペーサの占有率は、0.15%〜0.35%であることを特徴とする半透過型液晶表示装置。
