Abstract
Description
(a)CTO中に存在する遊離脂肪酸と低級アルコールを反応させる工程と、
(b)CTO中のステロールをホウ酸でエステル化するか、または触媒でエステル交換させる工程と、
(c)残存するホウ酸ステロールエステルまたは脂肪酸ステロールエステルから脂肪酸低級アルキルエステルおよびロジン酸を分離して、ステロールエステルの流れを形成する工程と、
(d)ロジン酸から脂肪酸アルキルエステルを分離して、脂肪酸アルキルエステルの第1流れとロジン酸の第2流れを形成する工程と、
(e)該ステロールエステルを遊離ステロールに転化させて、遊離ステロールが豊富な第3流れを形成する工程
を特徴とする方法をクレームする。
本実施例は、脂肪酸の選択的な酵素的または化学的エステル化を行うことなく、かつ、全ての遊離ステロールをステロールホウ酸トリエステルに転換することなく、全工程を構築するために用いられた同一の薄膜蒸留装置において、比較目的で、粗トール油(CTO)の薄膜蒸留装置(WFE)蒸留を説明するものである。
これらの本発明による実施例は、その後にホウ酸によるステロールエステル化が続く、粗トール油からの脂肪酸の選択的な化学的および酵素的エステル化の使用を記載するものである。脂肪酸アルキルエステル、ロジン酸およびホウ酸ステロールを、残留分におけるステロール分解を回避するため本発明に従って分離し、粗トール油から高品質の脂肪酸エステル(TOFA−Me)とロジン酸を生成させる。
a)化学的エステル化:RESITEC Industrias Quimicas LTDAから入手したCTO1kgを、メタノール(Aldrich Chemical Co.から入手)750g(23.43モル)およびメタンスルホン酸(0.12モル)(Merck KGaAから入手)12gと共に、温度計と機械的撹拌機が装備された、2L-Buichi研究室オートクレーブ BEP 280 中へ投入した。2時間にわたり温度を140℃に保ち、その後、温度を140℃から70℃に下げ、未反応メタノールを留去させた。反応中の最高反応圧力は7barであった。CTOの酸価は、当初の154mgKOH/gから65mgKOH/gに低下した。
a)110℃にて40mmHgで乾燥したエステル化CTO(工程2による)1kgとホウ酸(0.03モル)(Aldrich Chemical Co.から入手)5.0gを、2Lの3つ口丸底フラスコ中へ投入し、全ての遊離ステロールをエステルへ結合させるため、220℃にて4時間反応させた。
工程3により製造された生成物1kgを、2mmHg、210℃および仕込み流量550mL/時間で作動させたWFE中で蒸留した。WFEの底部に残る留分1は、CTO仕込みの20.0%(w/w)を示した。留分1は、エステルとしてステロール21%(w/w)、および脂肪酸メチルエステル62%、ロジン酸33%および不鹸化物5%を有しステロールを含まない、80%(w/w)を示すトップ留分2を含有していた。熱分解反応は最小であった。
工程4で得たトップ留分2の1600gを、研究室カラム蒸留において、250℃(底部)/210℃(トップ)にて2mmHgで、蒸留した。トップ留分1は、65%(w/w)を示し、脂肪酸メチルエステル90%、ロジン酸0.3%および不鹸化物9.7%を含有していた。底部留分2は35%で、ロジン酸90%および重質成分10%を有していた。
工程4で得た留分1の500gへ純水200gを添加し、90℃まで加熱して1時間撹拌した。相分離の後、留分を純水50gで2回洗浄し、乾燥した。
工程4で得た留分1の500gへグリセリン100gを添加し、220℃まで加熱して3時間撹拌した。この工程の後、遊離ステロール85%が得られ、適切な方法によって分離した。
Claims (13)
- 粗トール油(CTO)から脂肪酸アルキルエステル、ロジン酸およびステロールを得るための方法であって、該CTOに、以下の工程:
(a)CTO中に存在する遊離脂肪酸と低級アルコールを反応させる工程と、
(b)CTO中のステロールをホウ酸でエステル化するか、または触媒でエステル交換させる工程と、
(c)残存するホウ酸ステロールエステルまたは脂肪酸ステロールエステルから脂肪酸低級アルキルエステルおよびロジン酸を分離して、ステロールエステルの流れを形成する工程と、
(d)ロジン酸から脂肪酸アルキルエステルを分離して、脂肪酸アルキルエステルの第1流れとロジン酸の第2流れを形成する工程と、
(e)該ステロールエステルを遊離ステロールに転化させて、遊離ステロールの第3流れを形成する工程
を施すことを特徴とする方法。 - 工程(a)において、エステル化を酸性触媒の存在下で行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- メタンスルホン酸を触媒として用いることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- エステル化を120〜150℃の温度で行うことを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の方法。
- 工程(a)において、エステル化を酵素の存在下で行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- エステル化を固形担体に付着した酵素を用いて行うことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- エステル化を20〜60℃の温度で行うことを特徴とする請求項5または6に記載の方法。
- 工程(b)において、エステル化を200〜230℃の温度で行うことを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 工程(c)および(d)において、薄膜蒸留装置(wiped film evaporator)および/または分別カラムを用いて蒸留を行うことを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記薄膜蒸留装置を0.01〜10mm/Hgの減圧および190〜240℃の温度で作動させ、および/または、分別カラムを0.1〜5mmHgおよびトップ部170〜230℃かつ底部240〜280℃の温度で作動させることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 工程(d)において、脂肪酸アルキルエステルはロジン酸を含まないことを特徴とする請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 工程(e)において、水を用いてホウ酸ステロールの加水分解に影響を与えることを特徴とする請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 工程(e)において、グリセロールなどのポリオールを用いてステロールエステルの加溶媒分解を行うことを特徴とする請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の方法。
