Abstract
【解決手段】ゴルフボール2は、コア4、中間層6、補強層8、カバー10及びディンプル12を備えている。中間層6の基材ポリマーは、アイオノマー樹脂を主成分とする。補強層8は、熱硬化性樹脂を基材ポリマーとする。カバー10の基材ポリマーは、熱可塑性ポリウレタンエラストマーを主成分とする。カバー10の厚みTcは、0.6mm以下である。カバー10の硬度Hcは、54以下である。カバー10の体積Vは、3.0cm3以下である。厚みTc、硬度Hc及び体積Vの積は、90以下である。全ディンプルが直径の大きい順に列べられたときの、上位10%のディンプルの平均直径Dxと下位10%のディンプルの平均直径Dnとの比(Dx/Dn)は、1.30以上である。全てのディンプルについての直径の標準偏差ηは、0.52以下である。

図2から図4に示されたゴルフボール2では、ディンプルAの面積は16.98mm2であり、ディンプルBの面積は15.55mm2であり、ディンプルCの面積は14.19mm2であり、ディンプルDの面積は12.88mm2であり、ディンプルEの面積は12.25mm2であり、ディンプルFの面積は6.16mm2であり、ディンプルGの面積は5.52mm2である。
100質量部のポリブタジエン(JSR社の商品名「BR−730」)、35質量部のアクリル酸亜鉛、適量の酸化亜鉛、0.7質量部のビス(ペンタブロモフェニル)ジスルフィド及び0.9質量部のジクミルパーオキサイドを混練し、ゴム組成物を得た。このゴム組成物を共に半球状キャビティを備えた上型及び下型からなる金型に投入し、170℃の温度下で15分間加熱して、直径が38.5mmであるコアを得た。このコアの質量は、34.9gであった。
実施例1と同様の製造方法で、下記の表5から表7に示される仕様を備えたゴルフボールを得た。カバーの仕様が表1に示されており、ディンプルの仕様が表2から表4に示されている。実施例4の補強層には、二液硬化型ウレタン樹脂を基材ポリマーとする塗料組成物が用いられた。この塗料組成物の生成では、まず、116質量部のPTMG及び16質量部の1,2,6−ヘキサントリオールを120質量部の溶剤(トルエンとメチルエチルケトンとの混合液)に溶解した。この液に、その濃度が0.1質量%となるように、ジブチル錫ジラウリレートを添加した。この液を80℃に保持しながら、48質量部のイソホロンジイソシアネートを滴下して、ウレタンポリオールを含有する主剤液を得た。このウレタンポリオールの固形分は60質量%であり、水酸基価は87mgKOH/gであり、重量平均分子量は7850であった。この主剤液と、イソホロンジイソシアネート(住友バイエルウレタン社製)を含有する硬化剤液とを、NCO/OHがモル比で1.2となるように混合した。この液に、光安定剤(三共社の商品名「サノールLS770」)、紫外線吸収剤(チバガイギー社の商品名「チヌビン900」)及び蛍光増白剤(チバガイギー社の商品名「ユビテックスOB」)を添加して、塗料組成物を調製した。ウレタン樹脂成分100質量部に対する添加量は、光安定剤が2質量部であり、紫外線吸収剤が2質量部であり、蛍光増白剤が0.2質量部である。
ゴルフラボラトリー社のスイングマシンに、メタルヘッドを備えたドライバーを装着した。ヘッド速度が50m/secとなるようにマシン条件を設定し、ゴルフボールを打撃して、打撃直後のボール速度と、飛距離(発射地点から静止地点までの距離)とを測定した。10回の測定の平均値が、下記の表5から表7に示されている。
上記スイングマシンに、5番アイアンを装着した。ヘッド速度が41m/secとなるようにマシン条件を設定し、ゴルフボールを打撃して、打撃直後のスピン速度と飛距離とを測定した。10回の測定の平均値が、下記の表5から表7に示されている。
上記スイングマシンに、アプローチウエッジを装着した。ヘッド速度が21m/secとなるようにマシン条件を設定し、ゴルフボールを打撃して、打撃直後のスピン速度を測定した。10回の測定の平均値が、下記の表5から表7に示されている。
上級ゴルファーに、ドライバーでゴルフボールを打撃させた。このゴルファーに、下記の基準によりフィーリングをAからDの4段階に格付けさせた。
A:極めて良好
B:良好
C:やや不良
D:不良
この結果が、下記の表5から表7に示されている。
上記スイングマシンに、ピッチングウエッジを装着した。クラブヘッドのリーディングエッジでゴルフボールが打撃されるようにマシンの高さを調整した。ヘッド速度が37m/secとなるようにマシン条件を設定し、ゴルフボールを打撃した。ゴルフボールの表面を目視観察し、下記の基準によりシワの程度をAからDの4段階に格付けした。
A:シワがほとんど生じていない。
B:軽微なシワが生じている。
C:大きなシワが生じている。
D:大きなシワが生じ、中間層が露出している。
この結果が、下記の表4及び表5に示されている。
ゴルフボールを45m/sの速度で、繰り返し金属板に衝突させた。6個のゴルフボールについて試験を行った。実施例5では、衝突回数が50回以下で、すべてのゴルフボールが破壊した。実施例1から4及び6から13並びに比較例1から7では、衝突回数が150回以下で破壊したゴルフボールはなかった。

このカバーの、ショアD型硬度計で測定された硬度Hcが54以下であり、
このカバーの体積Vが3.0cm3以下であり、
このカバーにおける、厚みTc(mm)と硬度Hcと体積V(cm3)との積が90以下であり、
その表面に互いに直径が異なる3種以上のディンプルを備えており、
仮想球の表面積に対するディンプルの合計面積の占有率が75%以上であり、
全ディンプルが直径の大きい順に列べられたときの、上位10%のディンプルの平均直径Dxと下位10%のディンプルの平均直径Dnとの比(Dx/Dn)が1.30以上であり、
全てのディンプルについての直径の標準偏差ηが0.52以下であるゴルフボール。 - 上記カバーにおける硬度Hcと体積V(cm3)との積が140以下である請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。
- 上記カバーの基材ポリマーの主成分が熱可塑性ポリウレタンエラストマーである請求項1又は2に記載のゴルフボール。
- 上記中間層の基材ポリマーの主成分がアイオノマー樹脂である請求項3に記載のゴルフボール。
- 上記中間層とカバーとの間に、熱硬化性樹脂を基材ポリマーとする補強層を備えており、この補強層の厚みが3μm以上50μm以下である請求項4に記載のゴルフボール。
- 全てのディンプルについての直径の平均値が4.00mm以上である請求項1から5のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール。
