Abstract
【解決手段】 平面表示パネル17を駆動するゲートドライバ15及びソースドライバ16を制御しているコントローラ13内に、ブランキング期間における信号の階調を設定し得る信号階調設定手段を設けて中間調の階調に設定し、もしくはコントローラ13内に設けた黒信号挿入タイミング設定手段21によって、ブランキング期間内の黒信号挿入期間を映像信号書込み期間に相当する部分にも設定した。

Claims (6)
- 平面表示パネルをゲートドライバ及びソースドライバによって駆動するとともに、これらドライバを水平及び垂直同期信号並びに映像信号が供給されるコントローラによって制御する平面表示パネルの駆動方法において、
前記コントローラにブランキング期間中の信号の階調を設定し得る信号階調設定手段を設け、この信号階調設定手段によってブランキング期間における黒信号挿入用書込み期間の間の期間を中間調となるような階調に設定したことを特徴とする平面表示パネルの駆動方法。 - 平面表示パネルをゲートドライバ及びソースドライバによって駆動するとともに、これらドライバを水平及び垂直同期信号並びに映像信号が供給されるコントローラによって制御する平面表示パネルの駆動方法において、
前記コントローラに黒信号挿入タイミング設定手段を設け、この黒信号挿入タイミング設定手段によってブランキング期間における黒信号の書込み期間を映像期間における黒信号の書込み期間よりも相対的に拡大させたことを特徴とする平面表示パネルの駆動方法。 - 前記平面表示パネルをOCB型液晶表示パネルとしたことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の平面表示パネルの駆動方法。
- 水平及び垂直同期信号並びに映像信号が供給されるコントローラと、
このコントローラによって制御されるゲートドライバ及びソースドライバと、
このゲートドライバ及びソースドライバによって駆動される平面表示パネルと、
を有する平面表示装置において、
前記コントローラにブランキング期間中の信号の階調を設定し得る信号階調設定手段を設け、この信号階調設定手段によってブランキング期間における黒信号挿入用書込み期間の間の期間を中間調の階調に設定したことを特徴とする平面表示装置。 - 水平及び垂直同期信号並びに映像信号が供給されるコントローラと、
このコントローラによって制御されるゲートドライバ及びソースドライバと、
このゲートドライバ及びソースドライバによって駆動される平面表示パネルと、
を有する平面表示装置において、
前記コントローラに黒信号挿入タイミング設定手段を設け、この黒信号挿入タイミング設定手段によってブランキング期間における黒信号の書込み期間を映像期間における黒信号の書込み期間よりも相対的に拡大させたことを特徴とする平面表示装置。 - 前記平面表示パネルをOCB型液晶表示パネルとしたことを特徴とする請求項4または5記載の平面表示装置。
