湿潤剤:グリセリン、プロピレングリコール、ポリエチレングリコール、ソルビトール、キシリトール等。
発泡剤:ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム、N−ラウロイルサルコシンナトリウム、非イオン性界面活性剤等。
増粘剤:ヒドロキシエチルセルロース、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、カラギーナン、カルボキシビニルポリマー、キタンサンガム、ゼラチン、プルラン、アルギン酸ナトリウム等。
防腐剤:パラオキシ安息香酸エステル、塩酸アルキルジアミノエチルグリシン、メチルパラベン、エチルパラベン、安息香酸ナトリウム等。
香料:メントール、スペアミント油、レモン油、ユーカリ油等。
甘味剤:サッカリンナトリウム、ステビアエキス、アスパルテーム等。
その他薬効成分:アラントイン、酢酸トコフェロール、イソプロピルフェノール、β−グリチルレチン酸、トリクロサン、クロルヘキシジン、デキストラナーゼ、クロロフィル、フラボノイド、トラネキサム酸、ヒノキチオール等。
なお、これら任意成分の配合量は、本発明の効果を妨げず、薬剤学的に許容できる範囲で適宜使用される。

抜歯した歯牙のブラッシング前の白色度と、5日間ブラッシング後の白色度を株式会社村上色彩技術研究所製の測色計「CMS−35FS」で測定した。各例についてブラッシング前の抜歯した歯牙3本の測定値の平均値と、5日間ブラッシング後の歯牙3本の測定値の平均値を算出した。

参考例として行ったハイドロキシアパタイトを3.0%配合した歯磨剤では、増加は見られるものの、大きい増加は認められていない。
