Description

The present invention relates to a headrest that can secure a sufficient holding strength of a passenger's head and that does not get in the way even when a seat back is folded toward a seat cushion.

Recently, the popularity of automobiles that can accommodate a large number of people such as family members and friends is increasing, and various types of vehicles are being sold. In such a car, in addition to the conventional rear seat, a car in which a third row of seats is further provided behind is usually used. In this case, as shown in FIG. 4, the third row of sheets is structured to be used as a luggage storage area in a folded state. Accordingly, since the height (H1) of the seat back 1 of the third row of seats is designed to be lower than that of a normal seat (see FIG. 5), as shown in FIG. The passenger's head and neck are protected by lifting the pad 3 upward and sitting in a state where the height (H2) is added.

On the other hand, the third row of seats must be able to secure a large luggage space without being obstructed when the seat back 1 is folded to the seat cushion 2 side. For this reason, the side cross section of the headrest pad 3 is L-shaped. Are using things. Further, as shown in Patent Document 1, for example, a headrest bent 4 is used so that such a headrest stay 4 can also be embedded in the headrest pad 3.

However, in the case of a saddle-like stay, a reinforcing bracket 20 made of iron plate is attached as shown in FIG. 7 to satisfy the strength required for the headrest. Therefore, there is a problem that a welding process or the like for attaching the reinforcing bracket 20 is necessary, and there is a problem that bracket parts are necessary and the production cost is increased.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-168451

The present invention solves the conventional problems as described above, can satisfy the strength required for the headrest, and does not get in the way when the seat back is folded to the seat cushion side, In addition, the present invention has been completed for the purpose of providing a headrest that can simplify the assembly work and eliminate the need for extra bracket parts and can also reduce the production cost.

The headrest of the present invention made in order to solve the above problems is substantially U-shaped through an extending portion extending forward at the upper ends of the two leg portions in a headrest pad having a substantially L-shaped side view. A headrest having a stay in which a bent load receiving portion is vertically suspended, the extending portion extending inwardly toward the front, and the width of the load receiving portion is made wider than the width of the two leg portions. Is also characterized by being narrowed.

In the headrest of the present invention, a load receiving portion bent in a substantially U-shape is vertically provided at the upper ends of the two leg portions in a substantially L-shaped headrest pad in a side view. A headrest embedded with a stay, in which the extension portion is extended inward toward the front, and the width of the load receiving portion is made narrower than the width of the two leg portions. Even if the reinforcing bracket is not attached to the head, the strength required for the headrest is sufficiently satisfied.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 shows a case where the present invention is applied to a third row seat of an automobile, in which 3 is a headrest pad having a substantially L-shaped side view, and 4 is a stay embedded therein. . The stay 4 has a structure in which two load receiving portions 4c and 4c bent in a substantially U-shape are vertically provided at the upper ends of the two leg portions 4a and 4a via extension portions 4b and 4b extending forward. The above configuration is basically the same as that of the conventional headrest stay. In addition, 5 is a notch recessed part for adjusting the height of a headrest.

In the present invention, the stay 4 extends inwardly with the extending portions 4b and 4b facing forward, and the width of the two load receiving portions 4c and 4c is larger than the width of the two leg portions 4a and 4a. It is supposed to be narrow. 2A is a front view of the stay 4, FIG. 2B is a sectional view taken along the line AA, and FIG. 2C is a plan view thereof. As shown in FIG. 2, extension portions 4b and 4b extending horizontally forward are formed at the upper ends of the two leg portions 4a and 4a, and the extension portions 4b and 4b have a width of the front portion. Is extended inwardly toward the front so as to narrow. Then, load receiving portions 4c and 4c bent in a substantially U-shape are provided downward at the front ends of the extending portions 4b and 4b.
As a result of research conducted by the present inventor, the above-described structure has been achieved by extending the extending portions 4b and 4b inward and inwardly extending the two load receiving portions 4c and 4c. If the leg portions 4a and 4a are narrower than the width of the leg portions 4a and 4a, the strength of the load receiving portions 4c and 4c can be sufficiently increased without attaching a reinforcing bracket as in the prior art. By finding that we can be satisfied.

Hereinafter, the shape of the stay 4 will be described more specifically.
The strength of the headrest is generally confirmed by causing a spherical body imitating the human head to collide with the front surface of the headrest with a predetermined load and confirming that the headrest has sufficient strength.
This is schematically shown in FIG. This is because when the urethane foam or skin material constituting the headrest is compressed, the spherical body A approaches very close to the load receiving portion 4c, and the load of the spherical body A is transmitted to the load receiving portion 4c. This load is transmitted to the leg portion 4a through the extending portion 4b, and is transmitted to a frame (not shown) in the seat back 1 that supports the leg portion 4a.

At this time, as shown in FIG. 3, in the present invention, the center of gravity of the spherical body A (the center of the spherical body A), the load receiving portion 4c, and the leg portion 4a are arranged in a straight line. The entire load F of the spherical body A is efficiently transmitted to the legs 4a.
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 8, the conventional one is configured so that the straight line connecting the leg portion 4a and the load receiving portion 4c is parallel to the front-rear direction. Is distributed to F 1 and F 2, and the load receiving portions 4 c and 4 c are pushed outward by the load F 1 . Therefore, it is essential to attach the reinforcing bracket 20 to prevent this.
Thus, in the present invention, the extending portions 4b and 4b are extended inwardly toward the front, and the width of the load receiving portion 4c is made narrower than the width of the two leg portions 4a and 4a. It is possible to provide a headrest having an excellent strength with a simple structure.

Next, it is appropriate to determine the distance between the load receiving portions 4c. Assuming that the age of sitting on this seat and practically using this headrest is 4 years old or more, the width of the head. Is generally said to be in the range of 150-170 mm. In other words, a circle abutting on the load receiving portion 4c is drawn around the intersection of two straight lines connecting the center of the leg portion 4a and the center of the load receiving portion 4c, and the diameter (2r) of this circle is 150˜. If it is in the range of 170 mm, it can be said that this headrest is the headrest that most effectively draws out the strength of the headrest described in the explanation with reference to FIG.

However, as the name indicates, the headrest is designed to have a larger width (W) than the head of the human body so that the head does not protrude from the headrest even if the head of the human body abuts. That is, it can be said that the width (W) of the headrest is the maximum width of the human head considered in the headrest.
The lower limit of the width of the load receiving portion 4c is not particularly specified, but the intersection of two straight lines connecting the center of the leg portion 4a and the center of the load receiving portion 4c only needs to be outside the headrest pad 3.
The headrest configured as described above is applied to the third row of seats as shown in FIG. 5, and as shown in FIG. 6, the headrest pad 3 is pulled upward to add height (H2). Used in state and protects the passenger's head and neck. In addition, as shown in FIG. 4, when used as a luggage storage in a folded state, the headrest pad 3 is stored compactly without obstruction, so the luggage storage is large and easy to use. Can be secured.

As is clear from the above description, the present invention is bent into a substantially U-shape in a headrest pad that is substantially L-shaped in a side view, via an extending portion that extends forward at the upper ends of the two leg portions. A headrest in which a stay having a load receiving portion suspended therein is embedded, wherein the extending portion is extended inward toward the front to make the width of the load receiving portion narrower than the width of the two leg portions. Thus, the strength of the load receiving portions 4c and 4c can be sufficiently increased without attaching a reinforcing bracket as in the prior art. As a result, there is an advantage that an extra bracket part is not required and the assembling work can be simplified, and the production cost can be reduced.
