Description

The present invention relates to a golf club head, and more particularly to a golf club head in which high resilience is imparted to a face plate of a head such as a driver, spoon or buffy.

In Patent Document 1, a semicircular reinforcing wire is arranged radially around the hitting spot on the back side (inner surface) of the face plate of the head, and the reinforcing wire is integrally provided on the inner surface of the face plate. A golf club head is disclosed.
JP 2002-320692 A

Thus, in the preceding example, reinforcing wire rods are arranged radially around the hitting spot to increase the repulsive force of the face plate when the golf ball is captured at the hitting spot, thereby contributing to an increase in flight distance. When a golf ball is captured on a face surface that is out of the hitting spot, it is difficult to say that the effect is properly obtained.

In addition, since the reinforcing wire is integrally extended to the inner surface of the face plate for reinforcement, the reinforcing wire is always constrained by the same plate, and the reinforcing wire is flexed independently and causes high resilience. I can't.

In the preceding example, it is presumed that the reinforcing wire is attached to the inner surface of the face plate with an adhesive or the like, but there is a risk that the wire will be peeled off or dropped. In particular, the face plate bends inward every time it hits a golf ball, thus aggravating the problem of peeling and dropping.

In the golf club head according to the present invention, a plurality of elastic wires are arranged in parallel along the inner surface of the face plate, and the elastic wires are extended in contact with the inner surface of the face plate or with a slight gap. At the same time, both ends of the elastic wire are fixed at the peripheral area of the face plate to allow free elastic displacement between the both ends fixed.

The elastic wire arranged in parallel along the inner surface of the face plate generates high resilience in a wide area including the hit spot of the face plate and can increase the flight distance. The so-called trampoline effect that enhances the properties is effectively induced.

Further, since the elastic wire extends in contact with the inner surface of the face plate or with a slight gap, it flexes freely with respect to the face plate to give a high repulsive force to the face plate, and the elasticity of the elastic wire is radiated. It is possible to make an effective contribution to increasing the distance.

In addition, the load when the elastic wire is bent is applied to both end fixing portions, and problems such as peeling of the elastic wire can be solved.

As an appropriate example, both ends of the elastic wire are fixed to the front edge of the head main body by an adhesive or welding, and free elastic displacement is allowed between the two fixed portions.

As the elastic wire, a metal wire such as a steel wire represented by a piano wire is used. Alternatively, a carbon wire or a boron wire is used as the elastic wire.

The best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.

As shown in FIGS. 2, 5, 8, etc., the metal head body 1 of the golf club has a hollow structure, and the opening on the front surface is closed with a metal face plate 2 such as titanium. That is, the head body 1 and the face plate 2 are formed as separate parts, and the face plate 2 is attached to the front edge of the head body 1 by welding or the like to form a hollow structure.

As shown in FIG. 1, FIG. 4, FIG. 7, etc., a plurality of elastic wires 3 are arranged in parallel along the inner surface of the face plate 2, and as shown in FIG. It extends in contact with the inner surface of the plate 2. That is, the elastic wire 3 and the inner surface of the face plate 2 form a free contact surface.

The elastic wire 3 is brought into contact with substantially the entire width of the face plate 2, and as shown in FIG. 14, a bulging portion 11 is integrally formed at the central portion of the inner surface of the face plate 2, and comes into contact with the bulging portion 11. The both ends of the elastic wire 3 are separated from the inner surface of the face plate 2.

The bulging portion 11 forms a hitting spot, and when the bulging portion 11 is bent inward, the central portion of the elastic wire 3 is intensively pressed and bent together inward.

Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 18, the elastic wire 3 is extended with respect to the inner surface of the face plate 2 with a slight gap 4. That is, the elastic wire 3 is extended in a non-contact state with respect to the inner surface of the face plate 2, and in contact with the elastic wire 3 in the process of bending the face plate 2 inward, it is bent together.

As shown in FIG. 14, when the bulging portion 11 is provided on the inner surface of the face plate 2, the central portion of the elastic wire 3 is slightly spaced from the bulging portion 11 as shown in FIG. The bulging portion 11 is in contact with the elastic wire 3 and bends together in the process in which the face plate 2 is bent inward.

In any case in which the elastic wire 3 extends in contact with the inner surface of the face plate 2 or with a gap 4, both ends of the wire 3 are fixed at the peripheral area of the face plate 2.

In other words, both ends of the elastic wire 3 are fixed at the peripheral region of the face plate 2 and freely extend between the fixed portions with respect to the inner surface of the face plate 2. That is, the elastic wire 3 extends between the fixed portions at both ends with contact with the inner surface of the face plate 2 or with a slight gap 4.

When the golf ball is hit on the outer surface of the face plate 2, the face plate 2 is bent inward, but the elastic wire 3 is bent inward together in the bending process of the face plate 2 to generate a repulsive force. .

As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 3, the elastic wires 3 are arranged side by side in the horizontal direction (substantially horizontal direction). Alternatively, as shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, the elastic wire 3 is juxtaposed in the vertical direction (vertical direction).
