従来の技術によれば、口臭抑制歯磨剤には虫歯を防ぐ、歯を白くする、歯垢を除去する、口中を浄化する、口臭を防ぐ、歯のヤニを取る、歯石の沈着を防ぐ等が単一で求めたもの、または歯の洗浄効果だけを持ったもの、及び両方の効果をかね備えたものがある。口腔中に存在するグラム陰性嫌気性細菌であるフソバクテリウムニユウクレアテイム、バクテロイデスジンジバリスなどが産生する硫化水素、メチルメルカプタンなどの揮発性硫黄化合物が口臭の原因である(特許公開平07−055895)ことは知られており、口臭抑制の目的のためには、例えばミント、メントール、エッセンシャルオイル、植物エキス等が用いられ、マスキング効果、またはバクテリアに作用している。しかし、これらのものでは、短時間の間では口中をさわやかにし、臭いも少ないが、上記常在菌の持続性口臭抑制が完全でない。

歯の洗浄、清浄には例えば、界面活性剤、研磨剤、粘結剤等の働きで歯の表面はきれいになるが、歯垢が完全に取り除かれず、または、付着防止効果が不足している。ウンデシレン酸、及びその塩(亜鉛、マグネシウム、鉛)等の消臭効果は知られており、固型石鹸、洗顔料、ボディーシャンプー、靴下、靴の中の消臭、体臭防止等に用いられているが、口臭抑制歯磨には用いられていない。本発明の発明者は、鋭意研究の結果ウンデシレン酸エステルが持続性口臭抑制効果と清浄効果があることを見出し、本発明にいたった。

【発明の実施の形態】朝の起床時に口臭が臭う人は就寝中に口内の雑菌が歯間に残った食べカスを栄養源にして繁殖する際、分解されたものが口臭となり臭うケースも多い。このケースでは、口内の雑菌が原因となっている。口内には食べ物や環境から来る種々の菌が取り込まれ、唾液も多少の静菌効果があるが、フランギルス菌(嫌気性グラム陰性菌)、カビ等の糸状菌(真菌類)を静菌する効果は極めて薄いために他の天然薬剤の力が必要になる。タバコのヤニは、歯垢と共に歯に密着し除去が大変困難である。その結果歯は茶色っぽくなり、きれいなつやが失われる。これらの多くの問題点を一度に解決するのにウンデシレン酸の誘導体に着目し、鋭意研究を行なった。

このような問題を解決するために本発明に使用するウンデシレン酸エステルはウンデシレン酸とアルコールとのエステル化反応によって得られる。エステル化に用いられるアルコール部は飽和、不飽和、環状、直鎖、分岐鎖等各種の組み合わせがあるが、製品化のための配合のし易さ、安定性、効果、発泡を阻害しない、苦くない、飲み込んでも安全等のことからソルビット、グリセリン、ポリグリセリン、エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、1,3ブチレングリコール、ジプロピレングリコール、ポリエチレングリコール(200、400、600、1000、1500)、キシリット、マルチット、ラクチット、ラクトース、ショ糖、ウンデシレン酸ポリオキシエチレエン(0.1〜150モル)ソルビタン、等のアルコール類が好ましい。更には、口腔製品に適している原料としてグリセリン、ソルビット、ショ糖、ポリグリセリン、ポリオキシエチレエンソルビタン等のエステルが好ましい。

ウンデシレン酸エステルの使用量は0.001以下では効果が期待できず、5.0%以上では、安定なエマルジョンができず、また菌の増殖抑制効果がプラトーに達する。効果の高いウンデシレン酸エステルのモノエステルは苦味があり使用量は0.001〜3.0%が好ましい。

本発明の口臭抑制歯磨組成物は、練歯磨、粉歯磨、マウスウオッシュなどの通常の剤形とすることができ、これらの剤形に通常用いられる基剤、例えば界面活性剤、研磨剤、粘結剤、甘味剤等を配合し、これに有効成分であるウンデシレン酸エステルが配合される。さらに、本発明の組成物には一般的に配合されている他の薬効成分を配合してもよく、さらに防腐剤、着色料、香料なども配合してもよい。

ウンデシレン酸エステルの代表的なもののウンデシレン酸モノグリセリドの抗菌力試験結果を表−1に示す。本発明に用いる試料ウンデシレン酸エステルの代表的なものは、一般的な常法で合成される。
(試験法)
2%ウンデシレン酸モノグリセライド ジプロピレングリコール液を3%添加したポテトデキストロース寒天培地を作成した。ブランクの培地も同様作成した。この培地に黒麹菌を分散した生理食塩水溶液0.2mlを同様に殖菌し30℃で培養した。

【実施例】本発明の口臭抑制効果を表−2に実施例、比較例をあげてさらに詳しく説明するが、これに限定するものではない。

比較例、実施例によって得られた歯磨を使って25人のボランティアによって歯磨き試験をおこない、使用後の評価を行なった。その結果を表−3から表−6に示す。
〔評価法〕
被験者20名が5人づつ、4グループに分かれ、それぞれ比較例品をいつもの方法で毎朝1回歯磨きを行い、10日後に評価法する。その後各試験例品を毎朝1回歯磨きをおこない、10日後に評価法する。口臭、歯垢、歯の光沢は事前に判定者によって記録した。10日後の苦さは本人の申告により、口臭、歯垢、歯の光沢は同一判定者が行なった。

以上の如く、ウンデシレン酸エステルを口臭抑制口腔衛生品組成物に用いると口臭がなくなり、歯垢が除去されきれいな歯になる。
