【従来の技術】
加圧スプリングにより摩擦部材を給紙コロに圧接し、給紙コロと摩擦部材のニップ部で用紙を1枚ずつ分離して最上位紙から給紙する摩擦分離方式の給紙装置は、構造が簡単であり、特に低価格の普及機(画像形成装置)に広く採用されている。

しかしこの方式の給紙装置は、給紙コロと摩擦部材の間で摩擦音が発生するという不具合があった。そのため従来の技術では、摩擦部材を用紙進行方向の上流下流に分けて異音対策を施している(例えば、特許文献1参照)。

上述したように従来より、摩擦分離方式の給紙装置において異音対策を施すことは提案されている。しかし、従来技術では摩擦音の発生を完全に抑えることはできなかった。
