医療機関で使用される看護服や手術衣等は単に洗浄するだけでなく、二次感染を防止するために消毒・滅菌処理して再使用される。また、半導体部品や液晶などの精密部品の製造、検査、出荷等における取り扱いはクリーンルームにおいて行われるが、クリーンルーム内で着用する作業衣等はクリーニングして再使用される。
