Description: BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a cloth feeding device for a sewing machine. 2. Description of the Related Art A general sewing machine intermittently feeds a cloth while pushing up a cloth from below by a feed dog which moves in a box in conjunction with a needle of the sewing machine. When a plurality of slippery cloths are sewn together, the feed dog tries to feed the lower cloth more, so that the upper and lower cloths may be shifted. As shown in FIG. 4, the hem of the curtain must be folded over three times to sew the edge, and at the end of sewing, the upper cloth 30 is displaced and protrudes. The wrinkles 32 enter and make the appearance very poor. Also, with bias sewing, which sews the cloth diagonally, puckering (shrinkage of the sewing) tends to occur because the cloth expands and contracts.
It is also very difficult to sew straight. In order to solve such a problem, it is effective to constrain the cloth so that it does not slip. Conventionally, this is done by providing a feed dog with a needle and piercing the needle into the cloth, or by providing a feed dog normally above the cloth on the upper side of the cloth. There is a type in which a cloth is sandwiched and sent, and a pattern seamer in which a cloth is sandwiched in a cassette formed with a slit through which a needle of a sewing machine passes, and the cloth is constrained and sent with the cassette. [0004] In the above-mentioned two types of working on the feed dog, since the cloth is fed intermittently by the feed dog, there is no change in puckering. In addition, the cloth may be damaged by the feed dog. According to the pattern seamer, sewing can be done successfully without causing displacement or puckering of the cloth. However, it is necessary to prepare a cassette to sew a new shape, and to sew a large object such as a curtain. Not suitable for [0005] The present invention has been made in view of the above situation,
It is an object of the present invention to provide a sewing machine cloth feeding device which can surely restrain and feed a cloth without damaging the cloth and can continuously feed any large cloth straight. [0006] In order to achieve the above object, a cloth feeder for a sewing machine according to the present invention vertically contacts an endless feed belt across a sewing position of a sewing machine. The lower feed belt is formed of a material that does not stick to the magnet, and the upper feed belt is formed of a material that sticks to the magnet.
The lower feed belt is driven by a driving means, and the upper feed belt moves following the lower feed belt to receive the attraction force of the magnet, and feeds a cloth between the upper and lower feed belts adsorbed. . Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a plan view of a sewing machine provided with the cloth feeding device of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a sectional view taken along line AA of FIG. In this apparatus, an ordinary sewing machine 8 is embedded in a substantially center of a rectangular table 7 on which a cloth 6 to be sewn is slid, in a transverse direction with respect to the longitudinal direction of the table 7. 3 is provided. The feed belt is composed of an upper feed belt 2 circling above the table 7 and a lower feed belt 3 circulating below the table. The upper and lower feed belts 2, 3 In the notch 9 formed long toward the front and back of the sewing position 1, it is in contact with the upper surface of the table 7 at the same height. The upper and lower feed belts 2 and 3 are provided two each, and they are arranged side by side with an interval of 10 therebetween. The cloth 6 thus obtained is sewn with a sewing needle 11. The upper feed belt 2 is stretched around four pulleys 13 projecting from posts 12 erected on a table 7 in a loosened state. The upper feed belt 2 uses a steel belt, and a rubber layer is formed on the outer peripheral surface to prevent slippage. On the other hand, the lower feed belt 3 is stretched around four pulleys 15 attached to a bracket 14 hanging down from the table 7 under tension. The lower pulley 15 on the rear side of the sewing machine is driven by the motor 5, and the lower feed belt 3 moves in the direction of the arrow in the figure. The lower feed belt 3 is a resin timing belt, and a rubber layer is formed on the outer peripheral surface to prevent slippage. The lower feed belt 3 may be driven by a dedicated motor 5 as in this embodiment, or may be driven by power pulled from the sewing machine 8 via a belt or the like. The upper running portion of the lower feed belt 3 is guided by a belt guide 16, and a magnet 4 is embedded over the entire length in a portion where the lower surface of the belt slides. Therefore, the lower traveling portion of the steel upper feed belt 2 is attracted to the magnet 4 and is attracted to the lower feed belt 3.
The upper feed belt 2 has no means for driving, but moves when the lower feed belt 3 is moved. When the cloth 6 is inserted from between the moving upper and lower feed belts 2 and 3 from the front, the cloth 6 is sandwiched and sent between the upper and lower feed belts 2 and 3. Reference numeral 17 in the figure denotes a sensor for detecting the edges of the front end and the end of the cloth 6, which can start and stop the sewing machine 8 based on the detection signal, and can perform reverse sewing at the start and end of sewing. . When the cloth feeder of the present invention is used, the feed dog and the presser foot normally provided in the sewing machine 8 are unnecessary, and are removed or killed so as not to work. The cloth feeding device for a sewing machine according to the present invention sandwiches the cloth between the upper and lower feed belts attracted by the force of the magnet and continuously feeds the cloth in a restrained state. Not only does it not occur at all, but also does not damage the cloth. In addition, since sewing is performed with no tension applied to the cloth and the sewing position is fixed before and after, the occurrence of puckering can be suppressed, and bias sewing can be performed over a long distance. That is, according to this device, regardless of the material of the cloth or the skill of the person using the sewing machine,
The cloth is always fed in an ideal state, and a constant high level sewing operation can be stably performed. In addition, since the feed belt is endless, any large cloth can be continuously fed straight, and is particularly suitable for sewing large objects such as curtains and futon covers.
