Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 外観に優れしかも十分な強度を有するゴルフ
クラブを提供する。 【解決手段】 フェース殻部材４、ソール・側周殻部材
７、クラウン殻部材８及びウエイト部材９を結合してヘ
ッド１を形成する。ソール・側周殻部材７のソール部７
とウエイト部材９同士の間隙Ｌに、粘着剤と金属粉とを
混合した混合物13を充填する。隙間Ｌが埋まり外観を向
上することができる。混合物13には金属粉が混合してい
るので、隙間Ｌを埋めた混合物13自体の強度も向上す
る。粘着剤を接着剤としたことにより混合物13を隙間Ｌ
に充填することにより該隙間Ｌに混合物13が接着するの
で、簡単に隙間Ｌを埋めることができる。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、複数の部材を組み
合わせてなる金属製のゴルフクラブヘッドにシャフトを
連結したゴルフクラブ及びその製造方法に関する。
【０００２】
【発明が解決しようとする課題】従来、ゴルフクラブヘ
ッドにおいては、複数の部材を組み合わせることによっ
て、重心位置等設計の自由度を高めたりしている。特に
異種金属を組み合わせることによりヘッドに高機能を付
加させることも行われている。このような複数の部材の
接合は、溶接、カシメ、螺子止め等がある。
【０００３】しかしながら、溶接による接合においては
ピンホール等により隙間が形成され、また、カシメ、螺
子止めにおいては両部材間に隙間が形成され、外観を損
ねるという問題がある。このような隙間は、それぞれの
部材の寸法公差をゼロにすることはできないし、塑性加
工を施しても変形しにくい、形状的に高い圧力を掛ける
ことができないなどの理由により、大量生産のなかで
は、その発生を防止することは困難である。このためピ
ンホールを溶接補修したり、またカシメはハンマ等で叩
いて押し込んだり、さらに塑性変形させて隙間を埋めて
補修したりしていた。一方螺子止めでは部材の寸法精度
を向上することにより隙間を小さくできるものである
が、大量生産では限界がある。
【０００４】そこで、本発明は、外観に優れしかも十分
な強度を有するゴルフクラブ及びその製造方法を提供す
ることを目的とする。
【０００５】
【課題を解決するための手段】請求項１の発明は、複数
の部材を組み合わせてなる金属製のゴルフクラブヘッド
にシャフトを連結したゴルフクラブにおいて、前記部材
同士の間隙には、粘着剤と金属粉とを混合した混合物が
充填されていることを特徴とするゴルフクラブである。
【０００６】この請求項１の構成によれば、隙間を混合
物で充填することで隙間を埋めることができる。
【０００７】請求項２の発明では、前記粘着剤は接着剤
であることを特徴とする請求項１記載のゴルフクラブで
ある。
【０００８】この請求項２の構成によれば、隙間に混合
物を充填することにより混合物を接着できる。
【０００９】請求項３の発明は、複数の部材を組み合わ
せてなる金属製のゴルフクラブヘッドにシャフトを連結
したゴルフクラブにおいて、前記部材同士を結合すると
共にこれら部材同士の間隙に、粘着剤と金属粉とを混合
した混合物を充填することを特徴とするゴルフクラブの
製造方法である。
【００１０】この請求項３の構成によれば、各部材を結
合すると共に、隙間を混合物で埋めることができる。
【００１１】
【発明の実施形態】以下、本発明の実施形態を添付図を
参照して説明する。図１〜３の第１実施例に示すように
メタルウッド形のゴルフクラブはゴルフクラブヘッド１
と該ヘッド１のホーゼル２に連結したシャフト３からな
る。ヘッド１は、それぞれ純チタンまたはチタン合金か
らなるフェース４Ａを形成したフェース殻部材４、ソー
ル部５及び側周部６を形成したソール・側周殻部材７、
及びクラウン殻部材８を一体に溶接により接合したもの
で、ホーゼル２の一側２Ａはソール・側周殻部材７と一
体に形成され、一方ホーゼル２の他側２Ｂはクラウン殻
部材８と一体に形成されている。
【００１２】そして、ソール部５の内部にはヘッド１の
重心をより後方に配置してフェースにおけるスイートエ
リヤを拡大するためのウエイト部材９を設ける。このウ
エイト部材９は、各殻部材４，７，８の材質より比重の
大きい材質、例えばベリリウム銅合金からなり、幅大な
下部９Ａの上部に幅狭な上部９Ｂが形成されたものであ
り、下部９Ａをソール部５に形成した孔10と面一にして
外側にあらわしており、そして、孔10の縁11が上方へ立
ちあがってウエイト部材９をかしめていると共に、その
上端12が下部９Ａと上部９Ｂ間の段部９Ｃに係止してい
る。この際にはウエイト部材９の下部９Ａの外周面と縁
11の内周面との間には僅かな隙間Ｌが形成され、美観が
劣るが、該隙間Ｌに粘着剤と金属粉とを混合した混合物
13を注入・充填することにより補修する。粘着剤として
は、アクリル系やエポキシ系の樹脂接着剤が好適であ
る。また金属粉としては、ウエイト部材９の材質と同一
のもの、すなわちベリリウム銅合金のほかに接合される
金属部材となるべく近い成分で同系色のものが好まし
く、例えば銅系の金属、特に黄銅等が好ましいが、色が
ほぼ合えばよいので近い成分ではなく金粉でもよい。
尚、金属粉の大きさはなるべく細かい方がよく、例えば
２０μｍ以下、好ましくは１０μｍ以下、さらに好まし
くは５μｍ以下がよい。これら粘着剤と金属粉を容積比
として粘着剤を１に対して金属粉を２の割合とする。こ
のような混合物13を隙間Ｌに充填した後、余分な箇所を
有機溶剤等で拭き取ることで簡単に除去でき、外観を向
上することができる。
【００１３】以上のように、前記実施例ではフェース殻
部材４、ソール・側周殻部材７、クラウン殻部材８及び
ウエイト部材９を組み合わせてなる金属製のヘッド１に
シャフト３を連結したゴルフクラブにおいて、前記ソー
ル・側周殻部材７のソール部７とウエイト部材９同士の
間隙Ｌに、粘着剤と金属粉とを混合した混合物13を充填
したことにより、隙間Ｌが埋まり外観を向上することが
でき、さらに混合物13には金属粉が混合しているので、
隙間Ｌを埋めた混合物13自体の強度も向上するので、ひ
いてはヘッド１自体の強度も向上することができる。
【００１４】また前記粘着剤を接着剤としたことにより
混合物13を隙間Ｌに充填することにより該隙間Ｌに混合
物13が接着するので、簡単に隙間Ｌを埋めることができ
る。
【００１５】さらに、フェース殻部材４、ソール・側周
殻部材７、クラウン殻部材８及びウエイト部材９を組み
合わせてなる金属製のヘッド１にシャフト３を連結した
ゴルフクラブにおいて、前記各殻部材４，７，８及びウ
エイト部材９を結合すると共に前記ソール・側周殻部材
７のソール部７とウエイト部材９同士の間隙Ｌに、粘着
剤と金属粉とを混合した混合物13を充填したことによ
り、各殻部材４，７，８及びウエイト部材９を結合した
際に形成される隙間Ｌを埋めて隙間Ｌをなくして外観を
向上することができ、さらに混合物13には金属粉が混合
しているので、隙間Ｌを埋めた混合物13自体の強度も向
上するので、ひいてはヘッド１自体の強度も向上するこ
とができる。
【００１６】図４は第２実施例を示しており、前記第１
実施例と同一部分には同一符号を付し、その詳細な説明
を省略する。第２実施例では、ヘッド１はフェース４Ａ
を形成したフェース殻部材４、ソール部５及び側周部６
を形成したソール・側周殻部材７、及びクラウン殻部材
８を一体に溶接により接合したものであり、接合部分に
溶接によるピンホールたる隙間Ｍに、粘着剤と金属粉と
を混合した混合物21を充填したものである。
【００１７】以上のように、第２実施例では第１実施例
と同様に、隙間Ｍに粘着剤と金属粉とを混合した混合物
21を充填したことにより、隙間Ｍが埋まり外観を向上す
ることができる。さらに混合物21には金属粉が混合して
いるので、隙間Ｍを埋めた混合物21自体の強度も向上す
るので、ひいてはヘッド１自体の強度も向上することが
できる。また前記粘着剤を接着剤としたことにより隙間
Ｍに混合物21が接着するので、簡単に隙間Ｍを埋めるこ
とができる。
【００１８】図５及び図６は第３実施例を示しており、
アイアン形のヘッド31の一側にホーゼル32を形成すると
共に、該ホーゼル32にシャフト33を連結している。ヘッ
ド31は、ホーゼル32、ソール34、フェース35に対応して
形成した逆テーパ状の凹部36、該凹部36の後面に後方へ
向けて貫通した窓孔37を備えたヘッド本体部材38と、前
記凹部36に圧入により嵌着する板状のフェース部材39と
を備えている。
【００１９】そして、凹部36とフェース部材39との接合
部分に形成された隙間Ｎに、粘着剤と金属粉とを混合し
た混合物40を充填したものである。
【００２０】以上のように、第３実施例では第１実施例
と同様に、隙間Ｎに粘着剤と金属粉とを混合した混合物
40を充填したことにより、隙間Ｎが埋まり外観を向上す
ることができる。さらに混合物40には金属粉が混合して
いるので、隙間Ｎを埋めた混合物40自体の強度も向上す
るので、ひいてはヘッド31自体の強度も向上することが
できる。また前記粘着剤を接着剤としたことにより隙間
Ｎに混合物40が接着するので、簡単に隙間Ｎを埋めるこ
とができる。
【００２１】尚、本発明は上記実施例に限定されるもの
ではなく、本発明の要旨の範囲内において、種々の変形
実施が可能である。例えば上記実施例では各殻部材４，
７，８をチタンまたはチタン合金としたが、これらは鉄
系、ステンレス系などでもよく、このような場合には金
属粉として鉄粉、ステンレス粉を用いるものである。

【発明の効果】請求項１の発明は、複数の部材を組み合
わせてなる金属製のゴルフクラブヘッドにシャフトを連
結したゴルフクラブにおいて、前記部材同士の間隙に
は、粘着剤と金属粉とを混合した混合物が充填されてい
ることを特徴とするゴルフクラブであり、外観を向上す
ることができると共に、金属粉を混合した混合物により
隙間部分、ひいてはヘッドの強度を向上することができ
る。
【００２３】請求項２の発明では、前記粘着剤は接着剤
であることを特徴とする請求項１記載のゴルフクラブで
あり、隙間に混合物を充填して接着できるので、簡単に
隙間の補修を行うことができる。
【００２４】請求項３の発明は、複数の部材を組み合わ
せてなる金属製のゴルフクラブヘッドにシャフトを連結
したゴルフクラブにおいて、前記部材同士を結合すると
共にこれら部材同士の間隙に、粘着剤と金属粉とを混合
した混合物を充填することを特徴とするゴルフクラブの
製造方法であり、簡単に外観を向上することができると
共に、金属粉を混合した混合物により隙間部分、ひいて
はヘッドの強度を向上することができる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 複数の部材を組み合わせてなる金属製の
    ゴルフクラブヘッドにシャフトを連結したゴルフクラブ
    において、前記部材同士の間隙には、粘着剤と金属粉と
    を混合した混合物が充填されていることを特徴とするゴ
    ルフクラブ。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記粘着剤は接着剤であることを特徴と
    する請求項１記載のゴルフクラブ。
  3. 【請求項３】 複数の部材を組み合わせてなる金属製の
    ゴルフクラブヘッドにシャフトを連結したゴルフクラブ
    において、前記部材同士を結合すると共にこれら部材同
    士の間隙に、粘着剤と金属粉とを混合した混合物を充填
    することを特徴とするゴルフクラブの製造方法。
