Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a thrust rolling bearing by using a simple means to prevent rollers from dropping and separating from one another, in view of the problem with a conventional thrust rolling bearing: that the use of a cover plate for coupling bearing washers together to prevent the rollers from dropping results in a cost increase. SOLUTION: The thrust tapered roller bearing has tapered rollers 4 incorporated between a pair of bearing washers 2 and 3. A solid lubricant 14 is packed between the bearing washers 2 and 3 and all the tapered rollers 4 are coupled and integrated together by the solid lubricant 14 and thus prevented from dropping and separating.
