PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female connector housing in which a female connector housing and a male connector housing are fitted to each other to form a connector. Since the male terminal facing the hole is damaged by the male connector housing, it is an object to solve such a problem. A second rib groove is provided on an upper side surface of a male connector housing, and the second rib groove guides the second rib to a female connector housing and is deeper than the first rib groove. 18 is recessed and the second rib 1
6 is allowed to move in the direction of fitting along the second rib groove 18, but when the male and female connector housings 3, 1 move relative to each other in a twisting direction different from the direction in which they are fitted to each other, the second The ribs 16 abut on the front end face 13 of the front opening of the female connector housing 3 to prevent the fitting in the twisting direction.

2. Description of the Related Art In FIG. 6, a connector device comprises a male connector housing 1 made of synthetic resin, a female connector housing 3 made of synthetic resin having a fitting hole 2 for fitting and housing the male connector housing 1. Consists of From the rear surface 4 of the male connector housing 1, female metal terminals 5 (hereinafter referred to as "female terminals") are inserted into predetermined insertion holes. Reference numeral 8 denotes an insertion hole provided in the front end face 6 for receiving a metal terminal on the other side. The mating metal terminal is inserted and fixed in a predetermined insertion hole provided in the rear surface 7 of the female connector housing 3. The tip of the mating metal terminal is a plate-shaped male terminal, which projects into the fitting hole 2.
As a result, when the male connector housing 1 is fitted into the female connector housing 3, the insertion hole 8 accommodates the male terminal and achieves electrical connection. A first rib 9 and a sub-rib 10 are provided on an upper side surface between the rear surface 4 and the front end surface 6 of the male connector housing 1 so as to extend in a direction in which the male and female connector housings 3, 1 are fitted. On the other hand, the male connector housing 3 is provided with a first rib groove 11 for guiding the first rib 9 and a sub rib groove 12 for guiding the rib 10. These first ribs 9, 9 are for fitting the male connector housing 1 to the female connector housing 3 smoothly. Therefore, the fitting direction is oblique to the fitting direction, that is, the male connector housing 1 is forcibly pushed into the female connector housing 3 to prevent the housings 1 and 3 from being twisted and fitted with each other. , Formed to prevent fitting in the twisting direction. The connector was assembled as follows. First, the female terminal 5 is inserted into the male connector housing 1 in advance and integrated. Similarly, the male terminal is inserted into the female connector housing 3 and integrated. As shown by the dashed line, the male connector housing 1 has the front end face 6 enter the fitting hole 2 from the front end face 13 of the front opening of the female connector housing 3. At this time, the ribs 9 and 10 are connected to the female connector housing 3.
Are guided by the predetermined first rib groove 11 and sub rib groove 12, and the male and female connector housings 1, 3 are united to obtain a connector.

However, in the conventional apparatus, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, first ribs 9, 9 for preventing the fitting in the twisting direction are formed. Nevertheless, the male connector housing 1 may be pushed into the female connector housing 3 in a direction oblique to the fitting direction. At this time, the first ribs 9, 9 are fitted into the inner surfaces of the fitting holes 2 other than the first rib grooves 11, 11, but if they are further forcibly pushed into the female connector, the female connector will not be fitted. The male connector housing 1 enters the fitting hole 2 while deforming the lower surface of the housing 3 so as to expand. As a result, even if the male terminal facing the fitting hole 2 is twisted and broken or deformed to be fitted in the correct fitting direction, the male terminal can no longer be fitted because the male terminal is damaged. In some cases, the female connector housing 3 or the like must be entirely replaced, which may lead to a reduction in the efficiency of assembly work of the connector device and an increase in manufacturing cost.

The auxiliary rib 17 is provided on the male connector housing 1.
Is fitted to the female connector housing 3 at the beginning to facilitate the fitting.
When the two housings 1 and 3 are to be fitted in the twisting direction, the second rib 16 abuts on the front end face 13 of the opening of the female connector housing 3, so that further fitting in the twisting direction cannot be performed. That's what we do. Reference numeral 19 denotes a locking claw that locks the locked portion 20,
By engaging the locking claw 19 with the locked portion 20 at the time of fitting,

The operation of the embodiment will be described. When the male connector housing 1 is normally fitted into the female connector housing 3, the auxiliary rib 17 of the rib means 15 is in the second rib groove 18, and the first rib 9 and the auxiliary rib 10 are respectively in the second rib groove 18. It fits into one rib groove 11 and sub groove 12. By further pushing, the second rib 16 also enters the second rib groove 18. Accordingly, the male and female connector housings 3, 1 can be fitted without damaging the male terminal at all, thereby completing the connector.

On the other hand, when the male connector housing 1 is erroneously fitted into the female connector housing 3 in the twisting direction as shown in FIGS. The female connector housing 3 is deformed so as not to fit into one rib groove 11 but to be fitted into the ceiling of the fitting hole 2 so as to expand outward. However, at this time, the second rib 16 abuts on the opening front end face 13 of the female connector housing 3 which has been enlarged and deformed. As a result, the male connector housing can no longer be pushed into the female connector housing, and the male terminal in the female connector housing 3 can be reliably prevented from being damaged. In this case, the female connector housing 1 can be once removed from the female connector housing 3 and separated, and can be newly fitted to the female connector housing. Therefore, it is possible to improve the efficiency of the fitting and assembling work of the male and female connector housings 3, 1 and to obtain a connector device with a low manufacturing cost.

Although the present embodiment has been described in detail, the specific configuration is not limited to this embodiment, and even if there is a design change or the like without departing from the gist of the present invention, the present embodiment will be described. Included in the invention. For example, in the above embodiment,
Although the rib means 15 for preventing prying has a boundary 151, the rib means 15 may have a boundary 151, that is, a shape having no step as shown in FIG. That is, it may be formed only on the second rib 20 having a height corresponding to the second rib 16 without the auxiliary rib 17.
Further, the rib means 15 for preventing prying is provided on the male connector housing 1 and the second rib groove 18 engaging with the rib means 15 is provided on the female connector housing 3, but the rib means 15 is provided on the female connector housing. The second rib groove 18 may be provided on the male connector housing 1 side.

As described above, according to the first aspect of the present invention, even if one connector housing is slightly fitted due to the deformation of the other connector housing due to the twisting due to the fitting in the twisting direction. The second rib abuts on the front end face of the other connector housing, so that it cannot be fitted any more,
This has the effect of reliably preventing twisting. According to the second aspect of the present invention, since the auxiliary rib lower than the second rib is provided continuously from the front end surface of the one connector housing, the auxiliary rib is also provided at the initial stage of the fitting. Are guided by the rib grooves of the first embodiment, so that the fitting can be smoothly performed. According to the third aspect of the present invention, since the auxiliary rib is formed at substantially the same height as the first rib, the auxiliary rib is smoothly guided into the second rib groove, and has a good fitting posture. To prevent fitting in the twisting direction.
