Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.少なくとも400mW/mm2の高強度光を低溶融温度光ファイバに結合する装置 であって、 高溶融温度材料で構成され、前記高強度光を受け入れ、その全長内で非案内モ ード光を消散し、そして実質的に案内モード光のみを出力する空間フィルタ、 前記空間フィルタに近接し、該空間フィルタの発生熱を吸収して該熱を該空間 フィルタから導出するヒートシンク、及び 入力端で前記空間フィルタから実質的に案内モード光のみを受け入れる低溶融 温度光ファイバを有し、 該低溶融温度光ファイバは、該案内モード光をその本体に沿って伝播し、その 出力端で該案内モード光を出力する 高強度光を低溶融温度光ファイバに結合する装置。 2.前記空間フィルタが単一の石英光ファイバからなる請求項1の装置。 3.前記低溶融温度光ファイバの開口数は、前記空間フィルタの開口数に等しい か又は前記空間フィルタの開口数より大きい請求項1の装置。 4.前記空間フィルタが高強度光源から前記高強度光を受け入れる請求項1の装 置。 5.前記空間フィルタが、高開口数の光ファイバから前記高強度光を受け入れる 請求項1の装置。 6.前記低溶融温度光ファイバは、ホウケイ酸塩材料から造られている請求項1 の装置。 7.前記ヒートシンクは金属から造られている請求項1の装置。 8.前記低溶融温度光ファイバに取り付けられ、前記高強度光を出す光源装置に 該低溶融温度光ファイバを結合するコネクタを更に有し、前記空間フィルタは該 コネクタの中に位置している請求項1の装置。 9.前記高強度光を出す光源装置に一端で取り付けられる第1のコネクタを更に 有し、前記空間フィルタは前記コネクタ内に位置しており、前記低溶融温度光フ ァイバが第2のコネクタに接続されており、前記第2のコネクタが前記第1のコ ネクタの第2端に挿入されて前記空間フィルタからの光を該低溶融温度光ファイ バに結合する請求項1の装置。 10.光源装置からの少なくとも400mW/mm2高強度光を低溶融温度光ファイバ に結合する光ファイバ結合装置であって、 前記低溶融温度光ファイバに接続され該低溶融温度光ファイバを前記光源装置 に結合するコネクタ、及び 前記光源装置と前記低溶融温度光ファイバの間の前記コネクタ内に設けられ、 高溶融温度材料から構成され、前記高強度光を受け入れ、その全長内で非案内モ ード光を消散し、そして実質的に案内モード光のみを前記低溶融温度光ファイバ 内へ出力する空間フィルタ を有する光ファイバ結合装置。 11.前記空間フィルタは、単一の石英光ファイバからなる請求項10の装置。 12.前記低溶融温度光ファイバの開口数は、前記空間フィルタの開口数に等し いか又は前記空間フィルタの開口数より大きい請求項10の装置。 13.前記低溶融温度光ファイバは、ホウケイ酸塩材料から造られている請求項 10の装置。 14.少なくとも400mW/mm2の高強度光を低溶融温度光ファイバに結合する方 法であって、 単一の高溶融温度光ファイバで構成され、前記高強度光を受け入れ、その全長 内で非案内モード光を消散し、そして実質的に案内モード光のみを出力する空間 フィルタを設ける工程、 前記空間フィルタの発生熱を吸収して該熱を該空間フィルタから導出するヒー トシンクを該空間フィルタに近接して設ける工程、及び 入力端で前記空間フィルタから実質的に案内モード光のみを受け入れ、該案内 モード光をその本体に沿って伝播し、そしてその出力端で該案内モード光を出力 する低溶融温度光ファイバを前記空間フィルタに接続する工程、 からなる高強度光を低溶融温度光ファイバに結合する方法。 15.前記低溶融温度光ファイバは、複数の小径で低溶融温度の光ファイバの束 からなる請求項1の装置。 16.前記低溶融温度光ファイバは、光を伝送するプラスチック材料から造られ ている請求項1の装置。 17.前記低溶融温度光ファイバは、光を伝送するプラスチック材料から造られ ている請求項10の装置。
