小さな食片を調理またはあぶる装置およびその使用法
本発明は、1995年5月17日に出願された関連出願第08／442931号の一部継続出
願であり、1995年8月8日に出願された第08／512416号の一部継続出願であり、19
95年12月13日に出願された第08／571772号の一部継続出願である。
発明の背景
特に屋外のバーベキュー・グリルと共に使用される特殊な食品を調理またはあ
ぶる装置を開発するための様々な試みがなされている。たとえば、アブナー(Avn
er)の米国特許第4510855号は、従来型のバーベキュー・グリルのバーに重なるよ
うに切り取られた矩形開口部を含む平坦な金属シートを備える二次グリル装置に
ついて説明している。このシートは、グリル用の二次表面に小さな開口部を備え
ている。しかし、この装置は、高温時にはバーベキュー・グリルから容易に取り
外すことができず、また、この装置では食品を容易にひっくり返すことができな
い。
スクロッサー(Schlosser)らの米国特許第5069196号は、バーベキュー・グリル

ピット上に取り付けられるので、グリルから取り外すのが容易でない。また、こ

他の装置には、アタッチメントから正方形底面自体へ広がる台形側面を有する
正方形底面を備えるプラチナグリルグリッド(PLATINUM GRILLING GRID)(登録

が含まれる。Wokは、加熱された空気および煙を循環させるいくつかの小さな円

発明の概要
本発明の目的は、加熱された空気および煙の最適な循環を可能にして完全なグ
リル／調味風味を達成する、小さな食片を調理またはあぶる装置を提供すること
である。この装置は、グリルから完全に独立しており、アタッチメントを必要と
しない。本発明の目的は、バーベキュー・グリルから容易に取り外し、持ち上げ
、揺すって食品を落とさずにひっくり返すことのできる装置を提供することであ
る。このような機能は、蓋を取り外しまたは持ち上げ、食器（火箸、スパチュラ
、フォークなど）を用いて装置内部で食品を撹拌しまたは移動させることにより
、この装置を用いてグリル・グレート上で調理を行いながら使用することができ
る。
この装置と共に蓋を使用することは任意選択である。蓋をかぶせ、または取り
外すことによって、調理中にスパイス、ソース、調味料を加えることができる。
また、本発明のグリル装置は、グリルの頂面を閉じ、その間に最大量の調理表面
積を与えることができように、標準バーベキュー・グリル内に完全にはまるよう
に設計される。本発明の他の目的は、単一の開始材料から容易にかつ廉価に製造
できる軽量のグリル装置を提供することである。

詳細な説明
一つの態様において、本発明は、小さな食片をあぶる装置に関する。この装置
は、全体にわたって正方形の開口部を有するメッシュで構成されたバスケットを
備え、バスケットは、グリルの形状に合致するベースと、装置を揺すって小さな
食片をひっくり返すときに小さな食品を保持するのに十分な高さの４枚の側壁と

本明細書で用いられる「小さな食片」とは、通常、従来型のグリル・グレート
の長手方向バーから落ちる、グリル上で調理される小さな食片を指す。具体的に

DETAILED DESCRIPTION In one aspect, the present invention relates to an apparatus for frying small pieces. The device comprises a basket constructed of mesh with square openings throughout, the basket conforming to the shape of the grill and holding small food items as the device is shaken and small pieces are turned over. The mesh is composed of welded or soldered or woven material suitable for cooking or roasting food. The basket is preferably shaped to fit inside the grill when the grill lid is closed. The basket of the device is optionally covered with a lid that can be secured to the device or placed on the device. Another aspect of the present invention is a device for frying small food pieces as described in the above paragraph, comprising a completely enclosed basket having a top surface, a bottom surface, and four side walls. . The mesh can optionally be nickel plated or porcelain coated or coated with a non-stick coating suitable for grilling or cooking.
