パッケージング
本発明はパッケージングの分野に関し、更に詳細には、プレゼンテーションケ
ースに関する。幾つかの製品については、消費者が別の人に製品をプレゼントと
して贈ろうとする場合に進物用の箱として役立ち、及び／又は製品が損傷しない
ように安全に保管する収納容器として役立つプレゼンテーションケースに入れて
販売されるのが一般的である。一般的には、プレゼンテーションケースに入れて
販売される製品は筆記具であり、本発明は、特に筆記具又は同様の形状の細長い
物品に適したケースに関する。
筆記具は、個々に販売されるばかりでなく、セットで、例えばペン及びペンシ

本発明によれば、ベース、開放位置と閉鎖位置との間で移動するようにベース
にヒンジ結合されたカバー、筆記具等の細長い物品をケース内に受け入れて保持
するため、ベースによって支持された物品保持手段を有し、カバーは、第２物品
をケース内に受け入れ、ケースを閉じたときにこの物品をベース上に保持された
物品の横方向側方の所定位置に保持するための保持手段を支持し又は支持するよ
うになっているケースが提供される。
夫々の物品を保持するための手段をベース及びカバーに設けることにより、物
品が一つしかない場合に、第２の物品が入っているに違いなく、無くしてしまっ
たのだという誤解を生じることなく、特に、好ましくは、保持手段が物品を近接
して並置した状態で保持するように配置されている場合に、誤解を何等生じるこ
となく、ケースを一つ又は二つの物品について使用できる。物品を大きく離して
置いたり互いに直接重ねたりするのでなく、近接して並置することには、ケース
を過度に深くつくる必要がないという利点があり、ケースを狭幅にすることによ
り全体にコンパクトな設計にできる。保持手段は、ベース及びカバーと一体に成
形されており、保持されるべき物品を支持するように構成された弾性保持突出部
等の様々な形態をとることができる。しかしながら、好ましい形体では、保持手
段は、弾性材料、例えばゴム又は他のエラストマー材料でできた挿入体からなり
、ベース及びカバーにしっかりと取り付けられる。保持手段は、物品の長さに沿
った中央で物品の部分を把持するように位置決めされる。
筆記具は、美観が重要な種類の物品であり、美観は、将来の購入者の決定に影

本発明の第２の特徴によれば、筆記具を保持するためのグリップ装置を備えた
筆記具ケースが提供される。グリップ装置は、筆記具の長手方向区分の一部を受
け入れるチャンネルを有し、筆記具は、チャンネルの向き合った側壁間に把持さ
れる。前記側壁の各々には、筆記具と弾性係合するため、チャンネルに沿って間
隔が隔てられた横方向に変形可能な少なくとも二つの要素が設けられている。
一実施形態では、チャンネルは、ケースと一体のプラスチック製の部品によっ
て形成されている。チャンネルの側壁にはスロットが設けられ、上方に差し向け
られたフィンガを形成する。グリップ装置への筆記具の出し入れを容易にするた

ーションケースを端を下にして落とした場合に起こり易い筆記具の長手方向移動
が起こらないように筆記具をしっかりと保持する上で非常に効果的であるという
ことがわかっている。グリップ装置は、グリップ装置への出し入れ時に筆記具の
表面が損傷する危険をなくす柔らかな方法で筆記具を把持できる。
上文中に説明した様々な特徴において本発明を具体化した幾つかの筆記具用プ
レゼンテーションケースを添付図面を参照して以下に詳細に説明する。

第１図乃至第４図には、ペンとペンシルのセット等の一本又は二本の筆記具を入
れるためのプレゼンテーションケースが示してある。このケースは、全体に矩形
形体のベース１及びこのベースにヒンジ３で連結された同様の形体のカバー２を
有する。ヒンジは、例えば、ベース及びカバーと一体に成形されている。ヒンジ
により、カバーは、第３図に示す閉鎖位置と第１図及び第２図に示す一杯に開放
した位置との間で調節自在である。カバー及びベースの長手方向自由縁部には、
キャッチ機構が設けられている。ケースを閉鎖状態に保持するため、ベースに設
けられたリップ５にスナップ作用でラッチ止めするタング４がカバーに設けられ
ている。主壁６、７は、第２図及び第３図でわかるように、横方向断面が湾曲し
ており、これらの主壁の内面には、夫々の筆記具を置くようになったシートを構
成する細長く浅い溝８、９が設けられている。筆記具をそれらのシート内に保持
するため、グリップ装置として役立つエラストマー材料製の挿入体１０、１１が
ベース及びカバーに装着される。これらの二つのグリップ装置は、ゴム、ポリエ
チレン、又は他のエラストマー材料で型成形されており、便利には、同じ形態で
ある。第５図及び第６図で最もよくわかるように、各グリップ装置は、湾曲した
底壁及び向き合った側壁を持つチャンネル状部材からなる。側壁の外面は外方に

記具をグリップ部材のチャンネルに容易に出し入れできるように僅かに撓むこと
ができる。突出部１４は、グリップ部材の側壁を押圧し、挿入した円形断面の筆
記具の周りで閉じるため、チャンネル口部と隣接したそれらの自由縁部に向かっ
て僅かに先窄まりになっている。
三つの横レール１５が各グリップ部材の底壁から下方に突出している。これら
の横レールは、グリップ部材に沿って端部及び中間部に配置されており、ベース
又はカバーに設けられた夫々のスロットと係合する。各グリップ部材１０、１１
の側壁の内側面には、直立リブ１６が設けられている。第１図乃至第６図に示す
ように、各側壁には、この壁に沿って対称に位置決めされた二対のリブ１６が設
けられている。各対のリブは、他方の対から遠ざかる方向で長手方向に傾斜して

ル口部に設けられている。
第５図で明瞭にわかるように側壁の上縁部は凸状であるが、このことは重要で

横方向に重なっており、そのため、グリップ部材の側壁は、筆記具が他方のグリ
ップ部材から誤って外れることがないようするのを助ける。しかしながら、これ
らの筆記具受け入れ部品は、筆記具が一本しか入っておらず、ベース上に保持さ
れた筆記具が一本である場合、ケースを開けるときにカバーが第２器具を保持す
るようになっているということが明らかにならないように位置決めされている。
溝９及びグリップ部材１１は、ベース上に支持された器具と直接重なっているよ
うに見えるように、カバーに位置決めされている。ケースを一つの筆記具につい
てだけ使用しようとする場合には、必ずしもカバーにグリップ部材を設けなくて
もよく、所望であれば、例えば情報カードを保持するため、異なる形態の挿入体
を装着できる。
プレゼンテーションケースは、狭幅であるが深過ぎず、一本又は二本の筆記具
をしっかりと保持でき且つこれらの筆記具を見栄えよく見せることができるコン

記具を支持し且つ把持するため、自由端が内方に僅かに湾曲している。フィンガ
２３は、筆記具をチャンネルに押し込むときに横方向外方に変形し、次いでばね
のように戻り、筆記具を把持し且つ保持する。ペンＰは、第８図及び第１０図に
