Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for coating teeth, instantly curing in the oral cavity, providing a coating film of small thickness having antimicrobial activity itself. SOLUTION: This coating composition is obtained by dissolving 10-100 pts.wt. of a shellac in 100 pts.wt. of >=50% ethyl alcohol solution to give a solution of shellac in alcohol and dissolving one or two of 0.001-30 pts.wt. of a basic amino acid and 0.001-30 pts.wt. of a pH adjuster in the solution and can provide a surface having lost tack immediately after curing and showing a lubricant sensation.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Tooth coating compositions have been developed for cosmetic purposes and are currently commercially available. However, the film is thick, the surface of the film is sticky, and it takes time (several tens of seconds or more) to form the film, increases the adhesion of dental caries (plaque), and has a sufficient function of preventing tooth decay. I didn't. In the present invention, the film has low tackiness and a very small thickness, and only takes a few seconds to form the film. Furthermore, the coating itself has an antibacterial action against dental caries (plaque), suppresses adhesion of dental caries (plaque) to teeth, and can be expected to have an effect of preventing dental caries.

Means for Solving the Problems The coating used for conventional teeth is formed by melting shellac in ethanol,
This ethanol-melted shellac is applied to the tooth surface with a brush or the like, and ethanol is evaporated to form a film. Shellac is originally a resin acid, and the solvent ethanol evaporates, and the shellac resin component remains. The film thickness and the drying speed of the film are governed by the amount of ethanol used as the solvent. Increasing the amount of ethanol reduces the thickness of the coating and increases the drying rate. This accompanies the rapid evaporation of ethanol, and this rapid evaporation of ethanol causes a cooling phenomenon of the surroundings, leading to the exposure of moisture around the shellac coating and a whitening phenomenon of shellac. Further, since the site to be used is in the oral cavity, this phenomenon occurs remarkably. When the ratio of the shellac component to the solvent is large, the drying speed of the shellac is low, and the moisture in the oral cavity causes the whitening of the shellac resin. That is, the whitening phenomenon occurs regardless of whether the amount of ethanol as the solvent is small or large. In order to solve this problem, the effect of ambient moisture is eliminated by neutralizing the shellac resin acid and making it water-soluble. On the contrary, when the solution is made completely neutral, the shellac resin becomes soluble in water, so that it cannot be used in the oral cavity. For this reason, by adjusting the pH 4.1 (in the case of a 50% shellac solution) to pH 4.2 or more and less than 7.0 with a shellac solution, a film that suppresses the whitening phenomenon and that does not dissolve even when used in the oral cavity. It was also found that the coating thus formed had a quick drying property and had almost no tackiness (tack). As in the prior art, if the adhesiveness remains even after curing after drying, it causes adhesion of dental caries and could not be used as a dental caries preventive material. In order to solve this problem and use it as an anti-caries material, the present inventor adjusted the pH of shellac resin acid by adding a basic amino acid to ethanol-melted shellac, which is a coating substrate, and after curing. The whitening phenomenon of the shellac resin acid film was not caused, and it was found that the tackiness had disappeared, thereby completing a part of the present invention.

EXAMPLE 1 Dry transparent white lac (shellac) powder was dissolved in 99.5% anhydrous ethanol.
59.5% anhydrous ethanol in 27.0 g of 0% shellac solution (Rackcoat EDS manufactured by Nippon Shellac Co.)
To 0 g, a basic amino acid is added in a necessary amount to reach a target pH of 5.0, and the mixture is diluted and dissolved again. The thus-obtained tooth coating composition is a brownish solution that is rich in fluidity and tackiness, and is dried and hardened in about 3 seconds when it is applied to a living tooth with a brush. The coating formed on the tooth after hardening hardly adheres. (Example 2) 9 pieces of dry transparent white lac (shellac) powder
