The present invention relates to a container structure for dangerous goods.

The container structure object of the present invention is in particular suitable for the transport and possible storage of dangerous goods, according to the ADR, Accord Dangereuses par Route standard.

The transport of dangerous products or goods, generally by road, rail or ship, is regulated by the international "ADR" agreement.

"ADR" is an international agreement whose purpose is to harmonize the safety standards relating to the international transport of goods, as well as to ensure an acceptable level of safety for such transport.

The agreement includes the identification of dangerous goods, the packaging and labeling requirements, as well as the requirements for the construction and testing of packaging, as well as the construction, equipment and use of vehicles intended for the transport of dangerous goods. .

All containers for these uses must undergo "ADR" approval which includes, among others, a drop test, in which the container, dropped from a certain height, must not break, totally or partially.

The heights prescribed for this drop test are as follows: X = 1.80 meters: if the container passes the test, it obtains ADR "X" approval;

Y = 1.20 meters: if the container passes the test, it obtains ADR "Y" approval;

Z = 0.80 meters: if the container passes the test, it obtains ADR "Z" approval.

The dangerous solids, after being transported to the places of destination authorized and responsible for the collection of the same, can remain in the containers, i.e. the entire container is stored, or removed from the container used only for transport and stored in specific collection elements , for example tanks or underground rooms.

In the second case, the containers must be such as to allow an easy total emptying operation, which is usually performed using cranes or forklifts with revolving forks and bringing the container to a sufficient height by then overturning it by 180 °.

The possibility of obtaining a total emptying makes the container recoverable and reusable.

At least two types of such containers are known.

A known container is made with a metal structure such as to allow stacking and equipped with lower seats which can house forks of trolleys for handling and emptying operations.

The sturdiness of the structure, necessary to obtain the ADR approval, is obtained through the use of very resistant material, namely steel, which however implies high weight and cost of the container itself.

In particular, the high weight of such a container, of the order of 350-400 kg, limits the capacity of the container due to the high tare weight.

Another known type of container, dedicated to the transport of electric batteries, consists of a plastic box-like body and a light external metal structure.

The plastic box-like body, with a particular shape, is made using a special mold and the metal structure has the function of allowing easy handling but not to withstand falls. The structural resistance necessary for the ADR approval of this container is obtained from the resistance of the plastic material and therefore through very thick walls. Furthermore, this container, aimed at a single type of dangerous product, or exhausted batteries, does not have particular safety measures against accidental opening of the lid.

So, in essence, the products currently on the market for the field of application in question have the following main disadvantages: high weight and cost, if made of metal, or in any case a high cost, if made of molded plastic material dedicated.

The aim of the present invention is to provide a container structure for dangerous goods which overcomes the drawbacks of the cited known art.

Within the scope of this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a container structure which can be easily manufactured using commonly commercially available elements and materials and which is also advantageous from an economic point of view.

Another important object of the invention is that of realizing a container structure for dangerous goods which has a reduced total weight and which therefore offers a greater capacity and better handling, thanks to the lower tare weight compared to conventional containers.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a structure which, due to its particular constructive characteristics, is able to ensure the widest guarantees of reliability and safety in use.

These objects and others which will become clearer hereinafter, are achieved by a container structure for dangerous goods characterized in that it comprises a container body inserted in a cage equipped with a support base.

The container body is a plastic body, of the type used as a waste container; the cage is constituted by a frame which supports a bar weft forming a metal frame in the form of a parallelepiped, which encloses said container body; the cage is fixed to the support base which is made up of a normal wooden pallet.

Further characteristics and advantages will become clearer from the description of preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the invention, illustrated by way of non-limiting indication in the accompanying drawings, in which:

With reference to the aforementioned figures, the container structure according to the invention, generally indicated with the reference number 1, comprises a container body 2 inserted in a cage 3 equipped with a support base 4.

According to the present invention, the container body 2 is a plastic material body of the type commonly used as a waste container, ie a container for normal separate collection, which is very easy to find and low cost.

The cage 3 is advantageously constituted by a frame which supports a weft with bars forming a metal frame, in the form of a parallelepiped, which encloses the container body 2. The cage 3 is fixed to the support base 4 which consists of a common wooden pallet.

The pallet 4 comprises two metal tubulars 5 having the function of housing the forks of a lift truck for transport and lifting and emptying operations.

The cage 4 comprises a lower frame 6, divided into two half portions fixed to the support base 4 and from which a plurality of uprights 7, connected by crosspieces 8, rise.

The cage 4 also comprises brackets 9 made integral with the container body 2 by means of bolts and at least one pair of removable upper crosspieces 10, suitable for protecting the upper part of the container body 2 and allowing it to be opened.

The container body 2 comprises a lid 11 hinged to a box-like body 12 by means of hinges 13, and consists of a common container used for containing waste.

This container body 2 is modified, according to the present invention, with the affixing of sturdy closing hooks 14, designed to avoid accidental opening of the lid 11.

The container body 2 is also equipped, according to the present invention, with sturdy gaskets arranged between the lid 11 and the box-like body 12 to prevent the contents from spilling out, especially in the case of granular products.

Any lower hole, sometimes present in bins on the market and used for emptying, is plugged, for example with a metal and silicone disc.

In practice it has been found that the invention achieves the intended aim and objects by having provided a container structure for dangerous goods, which is constructively simple and economical and suitable for the transport and / or storage of dangerous solid materials with ADR approval.

The container structure object of the present invention is manageable and tiltable and is ADR-RID IMDG 31HZ1 X approved, ie it can be used for products and hazardous waste of packaging group I-II-III.

This container structure responds to the provisions for multiple types of product or waste and is the ideal solution for optimizing time and resources in full compliance with regulatory provisions.

The combination of a common waste bin with a sturdy external metal cage allows the containment function, typical of the common waste bin, to be released from the resistance function, offered by the metal cage, necessary for ADR requirements.

The container structure according to the present invention overcomes the drawbacks of known containers by producing a low-cost product, thanks to the fact that all the components are commercially available.

Furthermore, the present container structure has a low total weight and therefore offers a low tare weight and greater capacity, as well as improved handling.

This structure is reusable.

The container structure according to the invention is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the inventive concept; furthermore, all the details can be replaced by technically equivalent elements.

The materials used, as well as the dimensions, may of course be any according to the requirements and the state of the art.

CLAIMS 1. Container structure for dangerous goods characterized in that it comprises a container body inserted in a cage equipped with a support base. 2. Container structure, according to claim 1, characterized in that said container body is a plastic material body of the type used as a waste container; said cage being constituted by a frame which supports a bar weft forming a metal frame, in the form of a parallelepiped, which encloses said container body; said cage being fixed to said support base; said support base being constituted by a pallet. 3. Container structure, according to claim 2, characterized in that it comprises two metal tubulars associated with said pallet and having the function of housing the forks of a lift truck for the transport and lifting and emptying of said container structure . 4. Container structure, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said cage comprises a lower frame, divided into two half portions fixed to said support base and from which a plurality of uprights connected by crosspieces rise. 5. Container structure, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said cage comprises brackets, made integral with said container body by means of bolts, and at least a pair of removable upper crosspieces, suitable for protecting the upper part of said container container body and to allow its opening. 6. Container structure, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said container body comprises a lid hinged to a box-like body by means of hinges. 7. Container structure, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said container body comprises closing hooks adapted to avoid accidental opening of said lid. 8. Container structure, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said container body comprises gaskets arranged between said lid and said box-like body, suitable for preventing the contents from spilling out.
