Abstract

The anti-theft device has a freely swingable pendulum coupled to a component of the door locking mechanism. A first sensor (27) is coupled to the lock mechanism and a second sensor (26) to the pendulum to sense its freely swinging condition. The outputs of the sensors are coupled to an alarm system (32) which operates when both sensors produce an appropriate output. The lock mechanism includes an electromagnet, a lever of the mechanism is coupled to an armature which operates within the solenoid coil. The second sensor (26) is operated by the movement of the armature.
