Abstract

The method involves using a pulley (2) fitted with 'horns' (2') mounted on the top of each tower (1) where a nylon pilot cord can be easily disposed by a helicopter with minimal risk to pilot and vehicle. The pilot cord is subsequently replaced with a steel draw cable (T) by winching. One end (T'') is connected to a cable spreader (3) supporting a shield wire (G) and two support draw cables (T1,T2). Once the spreader has passed over the top pulley (2) and horns (2'), a shield wire locates in the pulley and draw cables, slide down over the rolling bearings of the slide-guides (SG1,SG2).
