Abstract

The device is for filling containers with liquid or pasty substances under sterile conditions. The device includes a vertically movable filler valve (1) having an outlet orifice (10) at the bottom. The projecting spout (8) of the outlet is insertable with a tight fit in the mouth of the container (7) to be filled. An enclosed sterile chamber (4) beneath the filler valve has an opening (5) at the bottom, into which the neck of the container may be introduced. A gripping device holds the container neck when offered to the opening, to keep it in vertical alignment with the filler valve. Two plates pivotally mounted on the gripping device automatically close off the opening when no container is present.
