Abstract

The safety float finds application in water storage tanks in blocks of flats. When the float in a tank breaks, water overflows with serious consequences (flooding, moisture, etc.) The invention prevents all this from happening; in fact the safety float (which is activated when the tank float breaks) closes the handle of the water stopcock and activates an acoustic alarm to indicate that the tank has failed. Use of the invention in blocks of flats (or elsewhere) would prevent the simple bending or breakage of the float in a tank from causing the water to overflow with serious consequences. <IMAGE>
