Cyclopentapeptides of general formula I <IMAGE> where A is a carbocyclic or heterocyclic or basic aromatic D α-amino acid residue, B is a carbocyclic or heterocyclic or basic aromatic L α-amino acid residue, or is an L-proline residue, C is a carbocyclic or heterocyclic, basic or neutral alkylaromatic D α- amino acid residue, or is a glycine residue, D is a carbocyclic or heterocyclic or neutral polar aromatic L α-amino acid residue, or is an L-proline residue, E is a carbocyclic or heterocyclic or basic aromatic D α-amino acid residue, and any functional groups which may be present in the side chains are optionally substituted, are tachyquinine antagonists.
