Abstract

The device for applying adhesive to the outer end LF of a roll of rolled up material comprises: a conveyor system to move the roll L; an unwinding system 206, 207, 209 to unwind the outer end LF of the material; an adhesive dispenser 211 to apply the adhesive to the roll L; and means 214, 217, 218 for rewinding the outer end of the material after the adhesive has been applied. The unwinding system comprises a suction device 251, 253 that causes separation and unwinding of the outer end LF of the tape from the roll L by reduced pressure, the said outer end of the material being drawn into a suction vent 209. In addition, means 262, 263 are provided for cutting off the suction which interrupt the suction when the roll is transferred from the unwinding device to the dispenser. (Fig. 1) <IMAGE>
