Abstract
Il pozzo del combustibile esaurito di un impianto di potenza nucleare (PWR) a reattore ad acqua pressurizzata ha capacità in refrigerante sufficiente a far si che non sia necessario un sistema o impianto di raffreddamento con taratura di sicurezza. Un impianto o sistema di raffreddamento e di depurazione combinato non a taratura di sicurezza con rami ridondanti fornisce simultaneamente raffreddamento e depurazione per il pozzo del combustibile esaurito, la cavità di ricarica e il serbatoio di immagazzinamento dell'acqua di ricarica e trasferisce refrigerante dal serbatoio di immagazzinamento dell'acqua di ricarica alla cavità di ricarica senza che esso abbia a passare attraverso il nocciolo del reattore. Elementi schiumatori sulla tubazione di aspirazione dell'impianto a sistema di raffreddamento e depurazione combinato eliminano la necessità di avere circuiti schiumatori separati con pompe dedicate.
