Abstract

The invention relates to an improved hydraulic shock absorber which comprises a tubular cylindrical body sealingly closed by end covers and a coaxial through-rod slidably associated therewith on which a piston defining two chambers with an incompressible fluid is fixed. Rod and piston have passages allowing fluid to flow between the two chambers. The shock absorber is characterized by the fact that at least one of the covers of the cylindrical body has a tubular appendage which coaxially surrounds a portion of the rod on which a compensating piston is slidable, defining between itself and the cover a sealed chamber containing a compressible fluid. <IMAGE>
