Several cylindrical bodies 12 are provided that can slide axially within body 14 of the plug and each having an extreme front portion 12a capable of protruding within the cavity the mold outside of the active face 11; means 21, 22 capable of moving the cylindrical bodies axially with respect to body 14 of the plug between a first position in which the extreme front portion 12a protrudes to a maximum degree within the cavity of the mold and a second position in which the extreme front portion 12a protrudes to a lesser extent within said cavity are also provided; the means 21, 22 are operated so that for each pressing cycle the cylindrical bodies 12 are in said first position during loading of the material 3 within the cavity of the mold and are then withdrawn into said second position before or during the compaction action of the material 3 within the cavity of said mold. <IMAGE>
