Abstract

Articles of organic glass with a high refractive index and contg. an organic photochromic cpd. are made by cross linking liq. compsns. which can be radical polymerised, consisting essentially of (a) at least one urethane resin, diluted in one or more (meth)acrylate and/or styrene type reactants, having the structure (I): in which R = the (cyclo)alkyl residue of a glycol, a polyol, a polythiol or a dimercaptan with 2-19C and 1 or 2 S or O atoms; R1, R2 and R3 (same or different) = H or CH3; X = O or S and n = 2 or 3; and (b) at least one photochromic cpd. chosen from spiro-indolino-oxazines, spiropyrans and chromenes.
