Abstract

This invention relates to a material for the thermal transfer of dyes, more particularly a receiving material for the thermal transfer of dyes comprising a substrate which has upon it at least one receiving layer for the dye which is capable of receiving a dye which migrates from a donor material for the thermal transfer of dyes following heating, in which the said material receiving the dye is obtained by spreading an aqueous microdispersion (latex) of a polymer compound capable of receiving a dye.
