Abstract

The device includes an upper rail 56 and a lower rail 72, parallel to each other, on each of which a respective carriage 26, 28 can move. Between the carriages is stretched at least one rope 46; 36, 38 for suspension and/or guidance, that supports a unit, for example a mobile instrument-carrying unit 10. Vertical movement of the unit is produced by some side wheels 34 on the said unit and/or by means of a cable 46 anchored to the said moving unit and driven by means of a pulley from a motor 52 on one of the said carriages. The moving unit, in a preferred configuration, has a pair of opposite removable slides 14, 16, of which one carries the instrumentation and the other a counterweight. <IMAGE>
