Abstract

The subject of the invention is a mechanism for opening translational-motion doors or the like, of the so-called pantograph type. In order to provide such a mechanism in such a way that it is simple and inexpensive to construct and works well and can be used even with curved doors, the invention provides a device of the said type that consists of an arm 1 which is hinged 4 at one end so as to pivot on the door frame 2 while its other end is hinged 5 to the door leaf 3, a drive being used to convert the angle through which the arm 1 pivots relative to the door frame 2 into a corresponding angle of pivoting of the door leaf 3 relative to the arm 1, such that while the door is opening the door leaf 3 remains constantly parallel to itself. <IMAGE>
