Abstract

The subject of the present invention is the lever device necessary for a person sitting on a chair equipped therewith to operate, adjust and fix the height of the seat, and to adjust the seat and fix it in any inclination. The said means, which is designed to be operated by one hand by the person occupying the seat when wishing to determine its position and height, consists of a small lever located underneath the seat, (as in other cases), where the lever is accessible to the person wishing to operate it while in a seated position. The said lever is connected to a series of mechanisms capable of effecting all the movements into all the necessary and desired positions. The said device is characterized in that it can be operated by a single control lever with which it is possible to: - lock and release the (usually gas-operated) device for raising and lowering the chair; - lock and release the damped cylinder for determining the inclination of the seat; - fix the inclination of the seat, once the inclination has been determined; and - act in such a way as to bring about the manoeuvres without these being able to interfere with each other as they are being carried out. <IMAGE>
