Abstract

The mobile unit consists of two main parts: a service stand and a container bin with hands-free operation and hermetically-sealed closure. The service stand uses a floor parking base 1 with a holding seat 3 that includes a bin locating guard 4 and with a service column 5 at the rear. Underneath the holding body 7 the bin comprises an annular underbase 9 with a rising section 10 to provide an annular recess 11 by means of which the bin can be immobilized. The bin is then completed by a lid 12 on a hinge 13 which can be opened by the action of a push finger on its lever arm 14. In order to locate the bin on the stand the bin is placed on the holding seat 3 so that its guard 4 is pushed fully into the gap 15 in its underbase 9. In this condition the knob of the lever arm 14 of the lid fits under the push bar 16. When the pedal 18 is depressed this push bar 16 descends, opening the lid 12 through 90 degree so that the refuse can be placed in it. The bin is then closed by gravity when the pressure on the pedal 18 is removed. <IMAGE>
