Abstract
Una cella 10 di immagazzinamento di energia elettrochimica ricaricabile ad alta temperatura che comprende un alloggiamento di cella diviso tramite un separatore 14 in uno scomparto anodico e in uno scomparto catodico. Lo scomparto anodico contiene una sostanza anodica 16 attiva che è costituita da un metallo alcalino M, il separatore essendo atto a condurre ioni del metallo alcalino dell'anodo attraverso di esso. Lo scomparto catodico contiene un catodo 18 comprendente una matrice porosa permeabile all'elettrolita elettronicamente conduttrice avente, dispersa in essa, una sostanza catodica attiva, la matrice essendo impregnata con un elettrolita di sale fuso. Il catodo 18 comprende pure, in contatto con la matrice 18, un serbatoio 26 permeabile ad elettrolita poroso di materiale che è elettrochimicamente e chimicamente inerte nell'ambiente catodico, detto serbatoio avendo la capacità di assorbire con effetto stoppino l'elettrolita di sale fuso alla temperatura di funzionamento della cella, la quale capacità è inferiore alla capacità della matrice di assorbire per effetto stoppino detto elettrolita di sale fuso.
