Abstract

A transportable fire-extinguishing unit is provided, for aircraft capable of hovering flight, comprising at least one vessel which contains the extinguishing liquid, at least one unit for loading the extinguishing liquid into the containing vessel, means for moving the loading unit between a first rest position in which it is essentially close to the containing vessel, and a second operational position in which it sucks the extinguishing liquid up from a supply area, and means for discharging the extinguishing liquid in a controlled manner out of the containing vessel, these means being actuated by means of an autoclave with adjustable pressure or by means of a nozzle fed by a pump.
