Abstract

The present invention relates to a label with a layer of hot-melt adhesive and a method for the production thereof. The label comprises a sheet of paper or plastic material having one side lined with a hot-melt adhesive. Means for neutralizing or rendering the adhesive inert are applied onto at least one portion of this sheet, on the side thereof lined with the adhesive, so that this portion may be easily detached once the label has been applied onto the object to be labelled, for example a can, a small container, a bottle or the like.
