Abstract
The method envisages magnetizing in a durable manner, at least one predefined portion 10 of the mechanical part, for example the contour of a flywheel 2. The part may then undergo, if necessary, further machining operations (not at the marked point), be assembled with other elements, etc. The part is then made to perform a relative movement (for example a rotational movement) with respect to a magnetic-field sensor 6 which explores the surface of the mechanical part 2. By detecting the signal emitted by the sensor 6 when the magnetized portion 10 of the part 2 passes by, it is possible to identify the magnetized portion 10 and therefore the angular position of the part 2.
