Abstract

Synthetic resin coupling hooks for a sliding clasp fastener have upper and lower branches and are arranged along one edge of a support ribbon. A coupling cord extends along the edge of the ribbon, and holes are formed on the ribbon to receive connecting arms for the hook branches. The holes have a rigid edge of melted ribbon fibres. The sliding clasp fastener of the invention has a strong connection between the ribbon and the closure hooks and maintains correct positioning of the closure on the ribbon despite rough handling.
