Abstract
The equipment simultaneously coats the two faces of a continuous sheet of paper with different compositions, having coating devices on opposite sides of the path followed by the sheet and bearing against each other. These apply metered quanitites of the compositions to the opposite faces, and a drier is provided for the coated sheet. The coating device for the first side comprises a recess-printing or intaglio roller to apply the metered quantity. There can be a roller coated with elastomer material defining part of the sheet path, running against the printing roller butout in the opposite direction, so that a coating composition is transferred from the printing roller to the elastomer-coated one and then directly to the sheet.
