Abstract

Aniline derivs. of formula (I) are new: In (I), R and R1 are H, Me, Et, n-Pr, CH2CH=CH2 or CH=CHMe. R3 and R4 are H, Cl, F, 1-3C alkyl, halomethyl, CN, Alkoxy, alkylthio or alkoxymethyl, or R3 and R4 can form a methylene-type bond. X is COR9, COOR9, CN, CH(OR5)2 or CONR6R7; where R9 is 1-3C alkyl; R5 is alkyl or alkylidene (sic); R6 and R7 are H or alkyl. n = 0 or 1. Z is opt. substd. phenyl, (CHR2)mY or CH2COR8; where R2 is H or Me; m = 1 or 2; Y is 2-8C alkynyl, opt. substd. phenyl, phenylacetyl, furyl, thienyl, pyridyl or a heterocyclic group contg. 2 or 3 heteroatoms, at least one of which is other than N; R8 is Me, alkoxymethyl, halomethyl or alkoxy. (I) are systemic fungicides with preventive and curative activity, e.g. against Plasmopara viticola, Peronospora tabacina and Phytophthora infestans. They have comparable activity to "Furalaxyl" and "Ridomil" while being less phytotoxic.
