Abstract

(A) Piperazine and homopiperazine derivs. of formula (I) and their acid addition salts are new. One of A and B is nitrogen, the other CH. Z is a ring (II) or (III); R1 and R2 are each H, 1-6C alkyl or 7-10C phenalkyl (opt. ring substd. once by halo or 1-4C alkoxy or alkyl. R3 is H or 1-4C alkyl. R'1 and R'2 are H or 1-4C alkyl or together are tri-, tetra- or penta-methylene. m is 1 or 2. R4 and R5 are each H, halo, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, 2-4C acyl or trifluoromethyl. X is CH2 and n is 0-3; X is Co and n is 1, 2 or 3, or X is oxygen and n is 2 or 3. Cpds. (I) and (VII) are neuroleptics (e.g. for treatment of schizophrenia); antihypertensives, and bradycardiac agents (e.g. for preventing or treating angina pectoris and tachycardia).
