Abstract
Selective herbicide compsn. for maize and sorghum contains a cpd. of formula (I) and an antidote R-CO-NR4R5 (II). In the formulae R1 and R2 are 1-4C alkyl; A is -CH2-, -CH2-CH2- or -CH(CH3)-CH2-; R3 is 1-4C alkyl, X is Cl or Br; R is halo-alkyl; R4 is alkyl, halo-alkyl, alkenyl, halo-alkenyl, alkynyl or 2,6-dialkylaniline; R5 is H, alkyl, halo-alkyl, halo-alkenyl, alkynyl or phenyl (where aliphatic gps. are 1-4C and halo is Cl or Br) or R4 and R5 together with the N form a heterocyclic such as piperidyl, alkyl-piperidyl, morpholino, alkyl-morpholino, hexamethyleneimino, oxazolidino, 2,2-dimethyloxazolidino or 5-alkoxy-methyl-2,2-dimethyl-oxazolidino. Used as selective herbicides for maize and sorghum crops., which may be applied at the pre- or post-emergent stage, at levels of 0.25-10 Kg/ha using classical formulations.
