Abstract
Prodn. of tauroursodeoxycholic acid (I) comprises heating ursodeoxycholic acid (II) with taurine (III) in presence of a 1,2-dihydroquinoline deriv. (A) as coupling agent and of a tert. amine. (A) is pref. the ethylethoxycarbonyl- or isobutylisobutoxycarbonyl deriv., the base is esp. Et3N and the reaction solvent is THF or DMF.
