Abstract
1393490 Phenothiazine derivatives ROUSSEL UCLAF 9 Nov 1973 [9Nov 1972] 52171/73 Addition to 1383773 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula I (in which R 1 = Me or Et and R 2 = decanoyloxy or, when R 1 = Me, 2-methylheptanoyloxy or hexadecanoyloxy) and physiologically acceptable acid addition salts thereof, and the novel maleic acid addition salt of the compound of Formula I wherein R 1 = Et and R 2 = OH, are prepared by reacting 10-(3-chloropropyl)-2- trifluoromethyl-phenothiazine with a piperidine derivative of Formula II to produce a compound of Formula III which is reacted, when R 3 = C 2 H 5 with decanoic acid chloride or maleic acid, or, when R 3 = CH 3 with decanoyl, 2-methylheptanoyl or hexadecanoyl chloride. The physiologically acceptable acid addition salts of compounds I are prepared by reacting the parent compound with an appropriate acid. Pharmaceutical compositions having neuroleptic activity, for oral or parenteral administration comprise one of the above novel compounds together with a pharmaceutical carrier.

Claims (1)
1. WHAT IS CLAIMED is* 43544-2 1. Piperidino alkyl phenothiazi es and their acid addition salts selected from the group constituted by J 10- 3- Γ4-(2-decanoyloxy-ethoxy)-4 methyl-plperidinq] propyl] 2-trifluoromethyl-phenothiazine, 10-^3-t4-(2C2-methyl-heptanoyloxy3 ethoxy)-4 methyl-piperidino 8. A process according to claim 7 for preparing the an acid chloride of formula Cl-CO-R^ in which -CQ-R^ represents a decanoyl, 2-methyl-heptanoyl or hexadecanoyl radical, and if one so desires, reacts with the product obtained a mineral 9. A process according to claim 7» for preparing the products defined in claims 5 and 6, characterized in that one reacts 10-(3-chloro-propyl)-2-trifluoromethyl-phenothiazine.
