Description
-1- 203978/2 Description: The invention relates to an installation cabinet of an electrical building installation, in particular a meter and/or distributor cabinet, and also to a method for producing a place for an installation cabinet.
Installation cabinets for accommodating devices, such as electricity meters or circuit breakers, are known through use. In order to mount said installation cabinets, the cabinet is first held at a suitable point on a wall where the corresponding cables are laid, the cabinet is aligned with the aid of a spirit level, the exact position is marked and the cabinet is then fixed. This is true both for wall-mounted installation and for flush-mounted installation.
The invention is based on the object of simplifying mounting of the installation cabinets.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the installation cabinet is provided with an indicator device for aligning the cabinet with respect to the horizontal and vertical.
Auxiliary means, which have to be additionally handled, are not required to align this installation cabinet. This leaves a hand free for making markings or for a tool or for immediately fixing the cabinet. The extra expenditure for the industrially employed indicator device, preferably simply a bubble tube, is more than compensated for by the saving made on manual work.
In a preferred advantageous development of the invention, the indicator device is visible from the rear face of the cabinet on a cabinet to be flush-mounted .
Therefore, the installation cabinet can be placed back-to- front against the wall and used as a template, which can be aligned with respect to the horizontal and vertical, for marking a position for an opening which is to be cut in a wall shell to accommodate the installation cabinet.
The indicator device is preferably also visible from the front face of the cabinet. Therefore, it can also be used for final, exact alignment of the installation cabinet when said installation cabinet is installed in the opening which is cut as indicated or in an opening which is already present.
In one refinement of the invention, the indicator device is arranged close to an edge, preferably to the upper edge which is provided for horizontal alignment, of the cabinet. The cabinet can then be held relatively comfortably and the device can be easily seen.
In a further refinement of the invention, the cabinet has auxiliary means for outlining the front-face profile of the four side walls of the cabinet. These auxiliary means are expediently recesses, preferably slots, which are arranged next to the side walls and through which a marking can be made with a writing or drawing implement. The markings can subsequently be connected to one another and then represent the profile of the side edges.
An opening can be cut in the wall shell along the marking using a tool, for example a jigsaw.
In the case of a wall-mounted cabinet, only the positions for the fixing screws have to be marked after said cabinet has been aligned.
The invention will be explained in greater detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments and the accompanying drawings which relate to these exemplary embodiments and in which: fig. 1 shows an isometric illustration of a detail of the rear face of an installation cabinet, fig. 2 shows an isometric illustration of a detail of the front face of the installation cabinet according to fig. 1, fig. 3 shows a plan view of a detail of the front face of a further installation cabinet, and fig. 4 shows a plan view of a detail of the front face of a further installation cabinet.
Fig. 1 illustrates a plastic installation cabinet 1 according to the invention which is provided with a spirit level 2. Reference numerals 5 and 7 identify the rear face and, respectively, the front face of the installation cabinet 1, and reference numeral 9 identifies the side walls of said installation cabinet. A flat flange 8 which projects from the side wall 9 and is intended to rest against a wall shell comprising gypsum plasterboards is arranged on the front face of the side walls 9. The flange 8 is provided with recesses 14 for fixing the installation cabinet 1 using screws (not shown here) .
The spirit level 2 is a bubble tube which is provided with markings 6. Said spirit level is arranged in the installation cabinet 1 close to the left-hand outer side wall 9 and the upper edge 7, as seen from the rear. The air bubble in the liquid in the bubble tube is identified by reference numeral 3.
As can be seen in fig. 2, the outer faces of the spirit level 2 are formed in the installation cabinet 2 and said spirit level is also visible from the front face 4 of said installation cabinet.
As shown in fig. 3, slots 10 and, respectively, 11 are made next to the upper horizontal side wall 9 and the vertical side wall 9 in the flange 8 of the installation cabinet 1.
Notches 12 and 13 on the outer edge of the flange 8 are shown in fig. 4. The notch 12 is situated on the upper face 7 of the flange 8 at the point of an imaginary extension of the side wall 9b. The notch 13 is situated on the right-hand outer face at an imaginary extension of the upper side wall 9a.
As an alternative, the position of the side walls 9a and 9b on the edge of the stop 8 can be marked on the installation cabinet 1 in a different way rather than by notches, for example using color or by markings made in the plastic.
In order to produce an accommodation place for an installation cabinet 1 according to the invention, said installation cabinet is held, by way of its front face, that is to say by way of the flange 8, at the point on the wall at which said installation cabinet is to be installed. The installation cabinet 1 is aligned horizontally and vertically on the wall with the aid of the spirit level 2 of said installation cabinet 1. A further device is not required for this purpose. The installation cabinet 1 is firmly held by hand and a marking is made on the wall, for example using a pencil, along the recesses 10 and 11 which, as shown in fig. 3, are made in each corner of the installation cabinet 1. To this end, the pencil is passed through the slots 10 and 11. The fixing recesses 14 are marked in the same way.
In order to connect the markings which have now been made through the slots 10 and 11 in order to sketch the profile of the outer side wall 9 of the installation cabinet 1 on the wall, the outer face of the flange 8 is used as a ruler.
As an alternative, the marking of the outline can also be drawn with the aid of the installation cabinet 1 shown in fig. 4. To this end, a pencil is used to make markings at the notches 12, 13 which are made in each corner of the installation cabinet 1. The respectively opposite markings, are connected to one another in the above-described manner by pencil marks with the aid of the installation cabinet 1 as a ruler.
An opening can be cut in the wall shell along the marking using a saw, for example using a jigsaw, and therefore form an insertion space for the installation cabinet 1.
The installation cabinet 1 is now first inserted into the into the opening by way of its rear face 5 and exactly aligned with the aid of the spirit level which is now visible from the other face. Said installation cabinet is then fixed to the wall through the fixing recesses 14, for example using screws.
The above auxiliary means for drawing the markings can also be advantageously used in said manner on an installation cabinet without a spirit level.
