Abstract

A facility comprising an effluent pit in which waste from the facility collects, and a spraying system. The spraying system is configured to spray acidified water in situ onto waste collected in the effluent pit via spraying means to reduce harmful emissions being emitted to the atmosphere from the collected waste. <Figure 1>
